I decided to do this early for Valentine's Day. You're welcome.
Addie poked my face.
"Charlotte..." she whispered quietly, still slowly poking my cheek.
I opened one eye.
"Yes Addie?"
She smirked at me and pointed to my calendar. The date was circled in bright blue.
My wedding day.
We thought about having an open wedding, but that freaked Darren out a bit. So we invited the usuals.
I invited; Addie (duh), Angel, Mitch, Anthony, Alexander and Kurt. I invited Chris and David but they probably couldn't make it in time.
Darren invited; the cast, and a few of his college buddies.
Addie, Mitch, Angel and Rene were my bridesmaids. Darren decided to have Oak, Lin, Leslie, and Anthony to be his men.
We are having it in the theater, so it was pretty unique. I felt horrible because Addie lost her love not yet a year ago and now I'm marrying mine.
I'm going to the next level, when Addie will never have that.
....As the time neared Addie helped me do my hair and makeup. To put it frankly I suck at hair and makeup.
I stood with the girls in the corridor. We shushed each other as the music started to play.
This however, is the marriage of two theatre majors. Therefore, it is quite different.
As the lively music began, Oak went out first. He burst through the doors and danced down the aisle. Oak started the song,
"It's a beautiful night. We're looking for something dumb to do. Hey baby, I think I wanna marry you..."
Addie came in after him, taking his hand.
"Is it the look in your eyes? Or is it the dancing juice? Who cares baby? I think I wanna marry you."
They climbed up the stairs parting to stand in their positions as the next couple came in.
Rene came in next, pulling Anthony by his tie. I heard laughter from everyone.
"Well I know this little chapel on the boulevard. We can go oh. No one will know oh."
Anthony tried to free his tie playfully.
"We'll come on girl..."
He freed his tie and took Rene's arm.
Angel and Leslie, and Mitch and Lin went next. They all chimed in after them.
"Don't say no, no, no, no, no. Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And we'll go go go go go."
Lin took the lead.
"If you're ready, like I'm ready."
"Cause it's a beautiful night. We're looking for something dumb to do. Hey baby, I think I wanna marry you."
Mitch's face when Lin took her arm was enough to make me crack up.
I went through the doors on my cue. It was kinda funny but I wore my dress for the opening song. It fit though and it was free.
Darren's face lit up. I didn't even walk. I spun around and climbed the stairs.
I stood in front of my fiancé. He smiled at me and mouthed, "I love you."
"I love you too."
