I smile at Addie as she steps out of the taxi.
She's going back to London.
I don't want her to leave.
No one does.
Everyone has begged her to stay except me.
I know what it's like.
My friends didn't beg me to stay in Tennessee.
It's not that they didn't love me. It's that they knew this was my dream.
Cats is Addie's dream and I'm not going to get in the way.
I roll her suitcase and carry Charlie on my hip. Addie and D follow closely behind, Addie carrying the newborn and Darren carrying Katie.
I follow the signs until we find her gate.
"Here we are." I say hiding the sadness in my tone.
Nobody else came. There's too much work the be done, and frankly I don't think anyone wants to do this again.
She sighs and takes her bag.
I watch her gather the kids.
"Are you sure you can fly to England with three kids?"
She nods.
"Did it once I can do it again."
I smile and watch her take a seat.
I ruffle Charlie's dirty blonde hair.
"Be good in England. Ok?"
He giggles and nods.
I think he's my favorite. It's hard to choose between the one named after me and the one named after Katie. I think I still like Charlie.
I bend down to give Katie a hug. She hugs my neck, tightly. I smile.
Just like Katie.
I take Addie's hands and look her in the eyes.
"You be good in England. I mean it. I want you to come back in one piece."
She laughs.
"I'm serious."
She nods and stands when the lady calls for her flight.
"Live your dreams, Addie Blue."
She smiles and hugs both of us before getting the kids and getting on the plane.
"Are you not mad?" Darren asks taking my hand.
"I'm not mad. I'm sad that's she's leaving but I'm not mad at her for trying to live her dreams."
