I open the doors to my theater making a grande entrance.
Only to regret it immediately and want to run back out.
Addie was laughing with Rene.
Andrew walked past causally.
She faced me.
I take a deep breath and start toward my dressing room.
I turn my face away from her, hoping she won't see me.
"Charlotte! Wait!"
Dammit.
So close too.
She reaches out and grabs my wrist.
"Look I know how you feel. I get it I really do. You can talk to me. I know you probably hate me, but I want to help."
She smiles.
I tear my arm away.
"I don't need help."
I adjust my bag and continue walking.
"Charlotte!"
I hear her growl like some kind of animal.
"At least you would have a heads up if he died!"
She yelled after me.
Her words sink into my head, making me stop in my tracks.
I inhale deeply and spin on my heels.
"I don't need this. You don't need this. Nobody does. Just...stop trying to fix what you've already broken."
I take off into my room, being careful not to slam the door.
