I paced the floor of my apartment slowly. Then quickly. Then slowly again. Katie was sitting in a chair beside the bed. Anthony was laying in it. His normally strong and tan body was pale and fragile. The blood seemed to drain out of his face. What was he thinking?! Kaydance told me to call her back when he woke up. You heard me right. Kaydance. I gained a friend but almost lost another in the same twenty minutes. I couldn't get the horrid sight out of my head. I heard a slight groan and spun on my heels to face my bed. I dashed over to the side and gripped Anthony's hand. He stirred. His eyes went wide. They were wild and untamed. "C-Charlotte?...." his panicked voice called. "I'm right here Anthony." I said trying not to break. Katie stood up. "I'm going to call Chris and David to tell them what happened." Then she left. Anthony sat up slowly clutching his head. "W-what happened?" He stuttered. The southern charm had seemed to drain from his voice. I cleared my throat. I looked at my shoes. He looked at his wrist still bandaged in the lower part of my favorite hoodie. His eyes said it all. "I'm sorry." He said letting go of my hand. I silently begged it to come back. He swung his legs over the side of the bed intent on leaving. I grabbed his uninjured wrist and pulled him back. "Someone needs to talk to you." I still didn't make eye contact with him but pulled out my phone. I took a deep breath and dialed the number. It rang once and a frantic voice called, "OMG WHAT HAPPENED IS HE OK?!" Anthony's eyes went wide again. Tears filled his big blue eyes and he cocked his head. "Is..." I nodded. His eyes went wider and he leaned over to look at Kaydance's tear stained face. He put a hand to his mouth and choked. His sobs filled the empty space around us. "Anthony you Dipshit. What is wrong with you?" Her voice called. I heard the smile in her tone.
I sent Anthony back into his room later that night. I made sure the boys knew and didn't ask. I also made sure I took every sharp object he could use. I couldn't lose another one. I flopped onto my couch in silence. Katie sat next to me and smiled. "You ok pumpkin?" She asked. I turned to her and nodded. "I just don't understand." She nodded sympathetically. Then her face lit up again. "So...I was on Netflix the other day and found a new season of Glee." I grinned and stood up. "I'll make popcorn."
