Darren
"What do you mean you don't know where she is, Addie?!"
Addie looks distant.
"I mean I don't know where she is. She said she was staying at a hotel, sent me the address, and left."
I sigh heavily, rubbing my head.
This is all my fault.
"This is your fault."
I growl.
"I know!"
She takes a step back.
I squint and stare at her middle finger.
"Did you get a tattoo?"
She scoffs.
"Darren! This is no time to focus on my skin! We need to find out what happened to Charlotte!"
Anger replaces my fear and worry.
"This is all Lin's fucking fault."
She nods.
"True, but we can't play the blame game right now."
The theater isn't far from here.
Maybe he knows where she is.
He better pray he knows.
I stomp away from the blonde girl.
She follows me, possibly knowing what I was about to do.
_______________
I push the theater doors open aggressively, startling the people inside.
I stomp through the rows of seats.
Lin doesn't flinch.
He knows why I'm here.
Maybe.
I climb the stairs to the stage.
Addie speeds up to catch up with me.
"Don't do something stupid, D."
I stand right in front of him.
"Where the fuck is she?"
He raises an eyebrow.
"Who?"
I clench my fists.
If the military taught me anything, it was to control yourself.
I push past memories back into the back of my mind.
"Charlotte."
His face twists in confusion.
"She's gone."
His face goes pale.
"What do you mean she's gone?"
I take a deep breath.
"We fought. She left. And now we can't find her."
His mouth becomes an "o".
He clears his throat.
"She's an adult. She can figure it out on her own."
I can't believe what I just heard.
"Remember the last time she went missing and you said the exact same thing?"
Addie gasps.
He takes a deep breath and turns around.
"Sorry, kid, I can't help you."
I grab his shoulder, swirling him around.
He doesn't flinch.
I punch him right in the nose.
Addie pushes him away from me.
"What the hell?"
I shrug and wipe the blood off my hand.
"He deserved it."
Lin sees me do this and reaches a hand to his face.
I grab Addie's hand and walk out.
"You need to be chill."
I spin on my heels.
"We've lost Charlotte again, Addie! Who knows what happened to her this time!"
She sighs heavily.
"We fixed the situation last time s-"
I cut her off.
"Yea, but what happened after that?! She would have been better off dead than living those next few weeks!"
Her eyes widen.
She shakes her head.
"We aren't going to be able to do anything if you keep flipping out."
I laugh.
"Me flip out?! Have you seen yourself these past few weeks?! Years even?!"
She rolls her eyes.
"Charlotte will contact us when she finds somewhere to do so."
She sighs.
"Until then.."
I take a deep breath.
"We wait."
