Chapter 12

Erin's pov.

So it has been a week since Christmas and since Jay and I told each other that we love each other. But also a week since we told each other we need to come out and tell hank. It has been a week and we still don't know how to tell him.

"Erin? ERIN?" Jay yells from beside me breaking me out of my trans.

"huh yeah." I say.

"Babe what are you doing." He asks.

"What?" I say confused.

"You have been sitting there for five minutes just staring ahead." He says.

"Oh sorry." I say

"What's wrong?" He says sensing something was up.

"Nothing." I sigh.

"Erin don't lie to me. Something is up. Ever since Christmas something has been different..." He says starting to get concerned.

"No everything's fine." I say not convincing him.

"Oh God. Erin you don't love me back do you. I told you I loved you and you haven't been the same since." He starts to ramble on.

"No Jay I love you. I just don't know how we are supposed to tell hank. That's what I have been thinking about. Don't for one minute doubt that I love you OK." I say leaning over to give Jay a kiss.

"OK babe I trust you. We will figure out how to tell him. But we should probably start by hurrying up and getting to work on time." He says

"Oh yeah that would probably be a good idea." I agree.

So with that we jump up and get ready for work as fast as we can.

We leave for work and get there ten minutes early. So we can talk to hank before shift starts.

We walk up to the bullpen to find just hank in his office.

"Hey hank can I talk to you for a minute." I say knocking on the door.

"Yeah come in." He says.

I walk into his office and just as I am about to speak he gets a call.

"Sorry Erin I've got to take this." He says picking up the phone.

So I walk out of his office so he can take the call.

"So how did it go?" Jay asks.

"It didn't. He got a call I didn't have the chance to say anything." I explain.

"Oh its alright babe we can just tell him after shift." He says.

By now everyone is at their desks waiting to see what we get for the day. Then hank walks out if his office.

"OK guys we got a case. Early this morning Stella and James Nicols found in their home both with gunshots to the head and chest. They have a 8 year old daughter. Isabel she is nowhere to be found. We have reason to believe that whoever did this has her. We do whatever it takes to find this little girl alive." Hank explains. "OK let's roll out we go the crime scene see what we can find. Mouse I want you to see if there is anything from the street security cameras from last night that will give us anything."

So we roll out and head to the house.

"Halstead Lindsay see if there is anything you can find upstairs." Hank orders.

"Alright." We say

So Jay and I head upstairs. We find three rooms. One is the parents room, a guests room and the daughters room. We go into the daughters room.
