Chapter 24

Hey guys if you haven't read the last few chapters go catch up to understand what's going on.

Erin's pov.

It's been ten minutes since Jay texted me saying he was on his way up. It only takes 2 minutes to get up to our apartment. What's taking him so long. At this point I'm starting to get worried.

So I grab my jacket out of the closet and go down to see what's taking him so long. But what I'm met with makes me weak at the knees. Jays car is sitting in his parking spot. But the door is wide open and his phone is smashed on the ground. He's gone. Jays gone.

I make it to the car and I can't hold myself up any longer. I collapse down to my knees tears threatening to fall. The first thing I do is pull out my phone and dialed hanks number. He answers after the third ring.

"Erin it's 9 o'clock at night. Why are you calling this late?" He says as he answers.

"H-h-hank" I manage to croak out the lump growing in my throat so big I can't talk.

"Erin what's wrong" He says his tone starting to get worried.

"J-jay... c-come... n-need h-help" I say before bursting out in tears and letting my phone hit the ground.

10 minutes later hank pulls up in his suv and parks right beside me noticing me sitting on the ground crying.

"Erin what happened?" Hank says running up to me.

"He's g-gone. J-jays g-gone" I say as hank slides down beside me and wraps me in a hug holding me tight. I sob into his shoulder as he runs his hand up and down my back.

After a few minutes hank gets up and lifts me with him.

"Come on let's get you inside." He says as we walk back towards the building.

When we get up to my apartment hank leads me to the couch and we sit down on it. He takes out his phone and texts the unit and kim burgess saying to come to my apartment quick.

After about 10 more minutes everyone else arrives. The whole time while we were waiting hank didn't say a word he just let me cry into his shoulder. By the time everyone arrived I had composed myself a little bit. There was still a lump in my throat but I managed to stop crying.

Everyone walks in and joins us in the living room. They can tell something is wrong because of the way I look.

"What's wrong" Adam finaly asks.

"J-jay" I croak but hank interrupts me

"Jay is missing" As hank says this everyone goes silent and are shocked.

"What? How?" Adam blurts out.

"That's why we are here. We are going to figure this out and find him." Hank says.

"He was i-in the p-parking lot. C-coming upstairs. A-and he was t-taking a long time. S-so I went to check A-and he was g-gone." I add.

"OK I want burgess and Dawson to stay here with me. Everyone else go investigate downstairs see what you can find."

With that they left just leaving Kim, hank, Antonio and me.

Kim sits down on the couch beside me and grabs my hand.

"Hey we are going to find him ok?" Kim says reassuringly

"OK Erin your going to have to walk us through the whole night." Hank says as he pulls out his phone to record and Antonio pulls out a notepad for notes.

"Um we were babysitting his niece today. He just went to bring her home and then came right back. He texted me saying he was on his way up. Ten minutes later he still wasn't up so I went down to find him. I found his car door still open and his phone smashed on the ground. Then I called you."
