Chapter 31

Erin's pov

Jay has been in the hospital for a week now and they are finaly letting me take him home tomorrow. He is tired of being in the hospital and just wants to go home. And honestly so do i. These past two weeks have been the most stressful of my life. And that's saying something considering what I had to go through as a child.

But this past week has also been the best of my life. I was reunited with the love of my life. And he proposed to me. He asked me to marry him. I know we haven't been dating that long but it feels like I have known him my whole life. And I couldn't imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else.

"Erin" Jay says from underneath me.

"Ya" i say tilting my head up to look at him.

"What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing" i say as I start to play with the ring on my finger.

I have been doing that alot these past few days. I never thought I would ever be in this position. With someone who would love me enough to marry me. But I found the one.

Jay noticed that I was playing with my ring and I could see a smile appear on his face.

Then there was a knock on the door.

I sat up in the bed and then stood up and got the door. It was the doctor coming back to do another checkup before we could leave in the morning.

"Alright everything seems to be going good. Your cuts are healing up and there should be no scaring. You might have a small scar from that burn on your side but that's it. You need to change your bandages every 6 hours. And I can't stress it enough when I say to take it easy. You need at least another 3 weeks before you go back to work and even then you need to be careful." The doctor says

"Well I work for the intelligence unit so that's going to be hard." Jay says before I slap him on the shoulder.

"Don't worry I will make sure he takes it easy." I say before the doctor walks out.

"Jay you have to take it easy." I say laying back down on the bed.

"Ya i know it's just hard. I'm used to going to work everyday and doing my job. And now I have to stay home and do nothing."

"I know. Why don't we get some sleep. Then when we wake up in the morning it will almost be time for us to leave."

"Ok" He says as I nuzzle my head into his shoulder and he wraps his arms around me

It only took a few minutes before I could hear jays shallow breathing and I wasn't far behind him.

I woke up and Jay was already up beside me. He was stroking my hair waiting for me to wake up.

"Morning beautiful" He says when he noticed I was awake.

"Morning" I say tilting my head up to look at him.

He brought his hand up and placed it on my cheek and pulled my face towards his. His lips connected with mine in a slow passionate kiss.

When he pulled away all I could do was smile.

"OK we need to get ready. It's 10 and they said they were coming with the discharge papers at 10:30." I say getting up off the bed.

With that i started gathering all the stuff I had brought and put it in a duffle bag.

I looked over and noticed Jay trying to get out of the bed.

"What are you doing?" I ask him once he manages to get his feet over the edge.
