Chapter 39

1 week later.

Erin's pov

It has been a week since Kim kicked Adam out and things haven't gotten much better.

Adam never came back to their apartment and won't return any of Kim's calls or texts. He won't even look at her when we are at work. Honestly he is being very childish about it.

But today is Lilly's second birthday so I have to forget about all that and try and have fun with my soon to be niece and the rest of jays family.

"Jay are you ready to go?" I yell from the kitchen as he is getting ready in the bedroom.

"Yeah just one minute." He responds I finish putting the gifts in a bag and cover them with tissue paper making it look nice.

He walks out a few minutes later finaly ready to go.

"You ready?" He asks walking up to me.

"I have been ready for the past 10 minutes." I say trying to hold in a laugh.

"I know. We'll let's go." He says reaching behind me to grab the bag and planting a kiss on my cheek in the process.

"You do know the party doesn't start till 3 and it's only 2?" Jay says as we walk out the door.

"Yeah but I don't want to be late." I'm still not used to these family sort of things so I am always afraid I'm going to mess something up.

"I know" He says as we make it to the car.

He puts the bag in the backseat then gets in the passenger side as I get in the driver's seat.

I pull out of our parking spot and out onto the road to make the 15 minute drive to jays parents place.

They live just outside the main part of the city so it is nice and quiet out there. They have a decent sized backyard, better than the ones you would get in town. To me it's the perfect place to live.

We pull up 15 minutes later and I notice that the driveway only has 2 cars. Jays parents and what I'm guessing is Chris and Felicia's car.

I pull into the driveway and put the car in park. We both get out and I go into the back to grab the bag.

Just as I'm turning around to walk towards the house I hear the door open and I notice Lilly running out right towards us. She is wearing a cute little dress with pick sneakers on. She is also holding a little blanket in her hand.

"Uncky Way" she yells running up to jay.

He kneels down and catches her in a big hug lifting her off the ground.

"How's my favorite niece doing?" He asks tickling her stomach.

"It's my birfday" she says laughing.

"I know it is." He says giving her a kiss on the cheek placing her on the ground.

She then turns to me and hugs my leg.

"Auntie Ewin's here too" She says.

I was a little caught off guard by this. I mean I'm not her aunt yet but i guess she already sees me as one.

"Yes she is." Jay says.

I kneel down so I am at her level.

"Happy birthday." I say.

"Fank you" She says.

"What you got there" I say pointing to her blanket that I now realise is a pink blanket with an elephant head on the top.
