Squeezing the other's hand, he made sure not produce anymore loud noises, or else the receptionist would shush him again, or might even ask him to leave. Some of the babies were napping, and waking them would only cause mass chaos for the women, and few men, trying to keep them asleep. But Dan was beyond excited. For years he and Phil had wanted to adopt, but honestly, it'd never been quite the right time, they were to busy, didn't have the resources or ability to care for a child, and they weren't exactly married yet. They had waited until marriage.

But now, it was finally time. And being in the orphanage filled him up with warmth, excitement, and nervousness. What if they couldn't find the right one? But he shut up his thoughts, they were children, not animals. They would love whichever one they chose, cherise it their entire lives, and support them through everything they wanted to do with their life.

"Dan."

Refocusing on the task at hand, he looked up towards the elder male, smiling brightly. He knew it was time, and one of the women lead them to a room full of active children, possibly ranging from the ages of only a few months old, to 4. And he could barely contain his happy squeals. His one true weakness was children, he couldn't resist their adorable chubby faces, and giggles.

The woman could obviously tell he was more than ready to go around a look, but the moment they came into view of the children, most them came running up towards them, wrapping their short arms around their legs, and beaming and grinning up at them. Dan's heart about melted. He parted from Phil, and basically began to play with them, crouching down to collect a few toys from the floor that was currently strewn with random items. Toys of every size, and colour.

"Come on darling, wouldn't you like to come and see them?"

A woman's voice distracted him from his current task, and he looked up and around until he focused on a woman trying to coax a small girl out of the corner, she couldn't be more than 3. Setting down the toys he had in his hands, he redirected the children crowded around him to Phil, who was currently being attacked by tiny hands, and happy squeals, being pushed back onto his back, and his laugh only made Dan smile, but he didn't sway from his new task.

Coming up next to the woman, who was slowly becoming flustered, he smiled at her. She only gave him a sideways smile, her eyes only leaving the girl for a moment, before turning to face him entirely. She looked upset, and nervous, and a bit ashamed. But he just kept smiling.

"Can I talk to her?"

She almost seemed relieved at his words, and nodded, scampering off towards Phil and the other children, trying her best to scold them, to not hurt him or annoy him. But honestly she didn't need to worry about any of that. Phil rarely got annoyed, and more so by children. Crouching down to be almost eye level with the child, he smiled at her, but she never looked his way. Pouting just a little bit, he got onto his bum and put his back to the wall, bringing his knees up to his chest, and wrapping his arms around them. His interest had been caught by her now.

"Hi."

Her head perked up just a little bit, maybe she thought he was the woman again, trying to move her from her safe place. He noticed her blonde curls, and smiled, looking up at the ceiling. He would stay here as long as it took, she wasn't like the other children, and it interested him. A lot.

"So. Me and Phil, that's him over there, came to adopt a child. Seeing as we can't have one of our own, and I was wondering if you tell me which ones are good kids, and those that are not."
