Little Wonder (Phan)

Chapter Three.

Setting Winnie up with Phil again, he gave her a smile. He knew she didn't like Tuesdays, or Thursdays, and she liked Sundays even less. YouNow. She hated that site with a passion, those days were the days they had to virtually act like she didn't exist, even though she was in the next room over. And he hated it, he really did. But until he was ready to tell everyone, this was just the way things had to be. Sadly. He gave her forehead a kiss and went to his room, closing his door. He knew there was no point, you could still hear the TV, damn thin walls.

"Hey guys! Happy Tuesday! It'll take a bit for you to catch up, so I'm sorry for whatever kind of sentences you hear when you log in. But yeah, hey. How's your guys week been?"

Going over the comments, he nodded at a few, and laughed at a lot. His audience was pretty friendly on YouNow, though he had the occasional dink. Waving at the camera, he spaced out for a moment, hearing Winnie giggle, and he let a smile slip onto his face without him thinking about it, until the looked down into the comments and he had millions upon millions of question of the reason for that smile. He had to act fast, but not panic. Don't be obvious.

"I just. .. heard something funny on the telly. Phil has it rather loud today, can you hear it? It's Steven Universe, we haven't caught up, but he's rewatching some episodes so we can watch it together when I'm done here, we'll do the same for his, and hopefully we'll be caught up by Sunday, but we're not sure yet, we've been awfully busy with work these past few weeks."

Scratching at his face he gave them a cheesy smile, before continuing on, watching the chat go by, without trying to focus that much on what his family was doing just in the other room. He would've given anything to quit this liveshow right now and be out there with them, but then they would all suspect something, and besides, it'd only been 5 minutes.

"So! Guess what happened on saturday! Louise came over! I know, exciting stuff. But I totally forgot that I invited her over, and then bam! Here she was. Phil was quite flustered."

Laughing a bit, he remembered it in a loving way, when Louise came back with Darcy and Winnie, he almost cried. She was all dressed up, and she and Darcy were matching, and it was a freaking beautiful statement of friendship if he'd ever seen one, and he rarely had.

"So anyways, she came over, and then all hell broke lose when -"

He stopped, froze, he'd heard something he'd hoped he'd never hear again. Once before, when she fell when skipping, but not know. Not in their home, this was supposed to be her safe place, not a place where she got hurt. Right now, he didn't even care about the liveshow, didn't give an explanation as a cry rang throughout the house, he slammed his laptop shut as he ran out, pretty sure that the audience could see him dashing, and ran into the living room.

"Phil! What happened!?"

"S - She just. .. got hurt! I don't know! I wasn't looking!"

Phil had frozen, unsure of what to do as Winnie sat there, crying her eyes at, and grabbing at her ankle. Huffing at Phil, he made sure to push him FAR away before going over to Winnie kneeling down beside her, and holding out his hand.

"Winnie, honey. What happened? Can you tell papa?"

"I - I fell!"

She pointed at the coffee table, and as he looked at Phil, he saw his eyes light up, and he knew what happened. He knew what had happened to Winnie, and he'd done nothing to prevent him. He almost attacked him, but he knew that was no way to act. Not in front of her.

"We were singing the song, Steven's song, and she was dancing on the coffee table, and I went to put away the dishes into the kitchen and she. .."

"She fell and you didn't do a fucking thing!"
