"Hey there pretty mama, wanna have some fun?"
With a soft sigh, I slapped away another one of the multiple hands that had grabbed at my skirt, really, how many of these kinds of people were there in London? Finally making it to our usual spot, I walked into the tea shop. The first time we'd officially dated, we came here. Phil had come to realise that I enjoyed tea more than coffee, and had been kind and considerate enough to take me somewhere that I would like. It was one of my fondest memories of us. I was becoming a bit worried though, it was almost 3pm and there was no sign of Phil anywhere, he wouldn't stand me up, would he? No, that wasn't like him, especially if he wanted to try and fix things between us, he would at least have the gall to show up to it.
"Hi! Yes, hello. I would like, um. .. green tea, please. With a bit of honey stirred in, is that okay? Phew. Thanks, of course. Yes, I'll wait." And there he was, right on time for once. With a shuddery breath, I turned around to see him just standing there, looking nervous as hell, brushing his hair back, and tucking in his messy shirt, licking his lips as he kept looking at his phone. And that's when I realised, he was waiting for /me/ to show up, not who I was right now, but he wasn't going to get Dan today. No, he was going to get Jams. Jamie, but I'd always like the nickname Jams, it's what I'd called one of my guy friends in my old university.
Clearing my throat, I walked up to him, swaying my hips from side to side as I came up next to him, leaning against him. "Hey there, mister. Whatcha doing here all alone? Waiting for someone?" Those ocean eyes were drifting down to me, and momentarily sparked in interest, but soon they dimmed down. "My name's Jamie, but you can call me Jams, I think you and I have something special, mister. Don't you feel the connection?"
"Excuse me, but I'm waiting here for my husband, we have some things to patch up in our relationship. So I'd really appreciate it if you didn't try and seduce me, thanks."
I couldn't help but scoff, rolling my eyes. "Look, I meant as friends, mister. And what happened between you and your husband?" I got off of him, smiling sweetly up at him, and he seemed to relax. "Would you like to sit down and talk about it?"
"Uh, yeah. Sure. Sorry, you're smile just seems really, /really/, familiar." I began to sweat nervously, and I looked down, clearing my throat again. "Call me, madam." He held out his hand towards me, and I took it, and he lead me to a table in the back, sitting on the other side of the booth. "So, you said your name was Jamie, right?"
"Jams, you can call me Jams." I finally got my tea, and took a sip of it, a happy smile on my face as it warmed my belly. "And what's your name? You look like a Winston, maybe even a Jonathan." Tapping my chin, I tried my best to act clueless, eyeing him up sweetly. "So, let's get onto the topic about you and your husband, what happened between the two of you?"
"Phil, my name is Phil." And he gave me a gentle shrug, those ocean eyes focusing on the table rather than my face, and I clicked my tongue, gaining his attention again. "Oh! Right! Well, um. It all happened a couple of months ago, actually, a /lot/ of months ago, I met this woman named Bea." This is when my blood began to boil, what can I say? I get easily jealous. I allowed him to continue though, not breathing a word. "And, well, we became close. I started seeing her more than my own husband and daughter, and it became a problem. And me, being a complete, and oblivious idiot, didn't realise she'd felt. .. /different/, than I'd thought."
His tea had finally arrived, and he looked a bit more relaxed. "And, well. Things escalated. She brought me to her house, and then tried to do things with me. I didn't want to do anything, and I didn't. I stopped her, but she'd managed to make me look undone, and when I came home -" He suddenly stopped, his ocean eyes glazing over with pain, regret, and sadness. I put my hand over his in a reassuring way, and he rubbed his thumb over my knuckles, and his smile meant the world to me right now. "Dan was beyond pissed, as he should've been, the sight must've been horrid to him. And, he tends to be overly jealous sometimes, you know? I still love him though, I will always love him. But I don't think he'll ever - Jams. I think I've lost my husband forever." And then he was crying. Oh no, oh no.
