"My baby is growing up." Squishing my cheek, she left a kiss on each, her own dark eyes were sparkling, glistening with tears of happiness. At least, I hoped they were tears of happiness. If they weren't, then we had a different problem altogether. "I remember holding you for the -- for the first time, seeing how small you were. The way you grabbed at my finger, and curled all your little fingers around mine." Sniffling as she smiled, looking into my head, she placed her hands on either side of my head and brought it down to her height, kissing my forehead. "You are the light of my life, and all that gushy stuff." Her dark eyes shone with pride and love, they were looking directly at me. Phil had said he'd wanted to give us some bonding time, seeing as we hadn't had enough that when I was growing up, but I threatened him that he'd been on the couch for a week if he didn't stay. So of course he stayed. "Now, where is new the little one?"

Almost as if though on cue, Winnie came running out, Phil running out behind her, a panicked expression on his face. "Sorry! Sorry! I told her to wait just a little longer, but she just wanted to come out and join you guys!" Smiling sheepishly up at me, he dipped his head at my mum. "Ms Howell, how have you been?" His face was flushed, he thought he'd done something wrong, but mum just went over and wrapped her arms around him, kissing the top of his head with a motherly smile. I'd told her what had happened with his own mum. He smiled back, his hand going over hers, and he gave her a smile of appreciation. "I think Winnie's wants you."

Looking down, Winnie was attached to her leg, smiling and giggling as her light eyes looked up at her with happiness, she really wanted her attention. "And just what do you think you're doing, you little monkey?" She scrunched up her nose before leaning down and picking her up from the ground. "Or shall we say, koala bear?" Her smile was large as she looked towards the smaller being, love and admiration in her gaze. She was already in love. Going over to the couch she beamed down at Winnie as she placed her on her lap, playing with her curls. "And what do you like doing, little one? Have daddy and papa been good to you? Are you hungry at all? Nana Howell can make you something to eat, what would you like?" And there she was, she didn't have any grandchildren, Winnie was her first one, but now she was acting like a usual grandma. Always offering food. "Come on, let's go to the kitchen, we're feeding you."

Looking towards Phil, I couldn't help but giggle. "Well, I guess we have a few minute to --" But he was already pressed up against me, pecking my lips. "Needy much?" But he didn't seem to notice my words, just pecking my lips over and over again. "Well, I'm glad mum took such a quick liking to Winnie, and I'm pretty sure Winnie likes her Nana as well." He placed hands on my hips, smiling at me with love in his eyes. "Why are you so lovey dovey right now, Philip? You take something you weren't supposed to?" Raising a brow at him, I leaned forward and pecked his nose. "Now let me go before mum and Winnie come back and see something they won't want to see." But mum was already watching us with a knowing smile on her face, my face flushing quickly, like a child who had been caught doing something naughty. She laughed.

I heard her whisper 'you're married, stop thinking you've done something wrong', before going back to the kitchen, having to watch Winnie carefully so that she wouldn't hurt herself, but mum had always been a wonderful cook, and a careful one. Especially when I'd cooked with her when I was younger. I'd always loved cooking with her. "I'm just in love with you, and I thought I'd show you." He mumbled into my shoulder, kissing it gently. "I always want you to know that I love you, no matter where, or when, or who is here. I want everyone to know I love you. You are my sun, my moon, and my stars. I will love you till the end of my days." His eyes were twinkling, those ocean eyes of his full of love. Even more than before. "So how long is your mum going to be staying with us, Daniel? I want to be able to plan our next few weeks if she's staying for awhile." Resting his forehead against mine, he simply continued to smile.

"A few days, maybe a week, is there gonna be a problem?" He shook his head, taking my hand in his before pulling away, saying he'd be right back. I went to the kitchen, smiling at the sight that I was shown. "So, what are you two making for us today?" Winnie didn't answer me, her brows were furrowed together with concentration, but mum just looked over at me, putting her finger to her lips with a smile. "What, I'm not allowed to speak in my own house, ladies?"

Leaving them to their own devices, I was happy mum was around now, it was nice having a woman around to help us with Winnie, now that she was growing up and would probably need a woman to help her out. Now all I had to do was wait for Phil. What was he even doing?
