Seventy-Nine.

"Happy Birthday, Little Cub." Gently wrapping my arms around her tiny body I could barely believe that she was already 8 years old. She really was growing up.Holding her for what must've been a moment to long she gave a noise of discomfort and shuffled her tiny body around to wiggle out of my arms. "Sorry, sweets, I'm just -- sorry. I know, I know. I promised no tears, but my baby girl is growing up!" I wiped repeatedly at my eyes but knew that they wouldn't be dry anytime soon. "Are you excited to see Ruby and Sapphire?" We hadn't managed to keep a single birthday surprise from her, she wasn't only growing up with age, but she was growing smarter as well. Looking at Phil with a large smile I knew he couldn't look at us, but he could see us just fine. He was the one driving after all. We were to meet Ruby and Sapphire at the park, along with a couple of friends they'd decided that Winnie had to finally meet. Seemed alright to me.

"Daniel, don't suffocate her." His tone was sharp, but his eyes were playful so I stuck my tongue out at him and pouted softly, crossing my arms against my chest like a child would. "We're almost there, sunshine. Are you excited? I've spoken to Pearl, she seemed sweet, though Daniel. If we run into someone called Amethyst, we're supposed to steer clear of her. Keep that in mind you two." He gave a gentle hum before pulling into the parking lot, "Now keep a hold of each other's hand and don't let, please. I can trust Winnie not to get lost, but Daniel, you make me worry." I gave him a scoff but he only snickered and got out quickly. I was a 29 year old man, I capable of not getting lost. But that proved to be false as our plans were wrecked, as Phil took Winnie's hand and left me to collect the few items from the car. I gave a huff when I couldn't manage to spot my 6ft husband in the very small crowd, almost tripping over a much smaller Latina figure in the process.

"Hey! Watch it, butthead!" She growled as looked up at me, rubbing at her head and her tiny hands disappearing in a mound of obviously colored white hair. "Wait -- you wouldn't happen to be Daniel, would ya? I'm Amethyst! Philly over there told me you'd probably get lost and to come find ya, well come on you big dope let's go." She grabbed my hand and pulled me over with amazing speed, almost inhumane. "Like I said, my name is Amethyst, but you can call me Amy. You already know Ruby and Sophie." She let out a tiny laugh when I gave her a confused expression, "Pardon me. /Sapphire/. It was a quick and snappy duo nickname for their little diner." She started drawling on, but a much taller, thinner woman came up behind Amy and put a hand over her mouth.

There was an apologetic smile on her face as she introduced herself. "I'm Pearl, I see you've meet Amethyst already. Come, come. Ruby and Sophie are ecstatic to see you!" She was rather pale and her hair was a dying face of light pink, but it oddly suited her. With a small I went to pick up my things, having dropped them from our sudden stop from Pearl, only to find that Amy had it all covered. "Please do excuse her, she sometimes forgets to act her age around new people, and especially around sweetened items, Sophie baked Winnie a cake. Oh I hope that was okay to tell you, I think I remember Sophie saying something about it being a secret. Well you'll pretend you didn't know, right? Thank you, Daniel." Suddenly I saw Phil and ran for him, forgetting that it might be seen as rude to run away from someone in the middle of a conversation, but Pearl didn't seem to mind much.

"One word about me getting lost and you're sleeping on the couch for a month." He clammed up real fast after that threat. Smiling upwards Ruby, who was currently calling me over, I gave Phil's cheek a peck before standing beside her. Watching as she slid her arm around Sophie's waist. I was probably going to end up calling her Sophie on accident. "Hey Ruby, hey Sapphire." Getting down on my knees I allowed them to wrap their arms around my neck and giving my cheek a peck each. "It's amazing to see you two again, and meet your friends!" Looking around I saw an assortment of people, all ranging from different shapes and sizes. "Mind introducing me? Sorry if you've already given out the introductions. Amy had to come find me." They waved that away, claiming they'd only just begun.
