Nina's House
"Okay, your little farm girl outfits are not going to impress anyone. Especially not your boyfriend," Nina said worried. "You need my help."
"He's not my boyfriend." I rolled my eyes. I had been going through Nina's closet for all of my Thursday, trying to find something presentable for Ross's bonfire party. "FYI, my clothes are cute. And impressing Ross would be a new level of low. Even for me. I just don't wanna look weird to everyone else." I said digging through Nina's closet.
Nina said something under her breath, and I didn't even bother to ask what. "So you admit your clothes aren't cute." She snickered.
Before my mom died I and Nina used to have fashion emergency crisis. I was usually the one having the crisis. Basically on picture day, "So are you completely sure you don't like Mr. Sexy?" Nina asked grilling me. Nina was too smart to know when someone was hiding something.
"I'm sure Nina." I mean...I was, wasn't I?
7:51 Breakfast
Hailey seemed to always leave with her friends, missing out on breakfast. I knew I should've told dad about the pot situation when I had the chance, but that would just mean MORE drama. And that was already cleared in when I meet Ross.
"Maia? Is everything okay?" Dad stopped munching his cereal. I looked up.
"Why...I mean...yeah." I said squirming out of daydreaming. I told dad I'd be going to Ross's party and he looked at me as if I didn't learn my lesson about parties. "What?"
"Don't worry...It's just a back to school thing, a guy's throwing." I told him, slightly smiling so he'd buy it. I tugged on my strap bag as if my life depended on it.
"A guy?" Dad laughed. "What's this really about?" He asked. Clearly the man wasn't as stupid as you'd probably think. I rolled my eyes, avoiding the answer boiling up in my mouth. I told him I'd be home at 10 and he replied. "I'd like to meet this guy, one day."
Fourth Period
Dear, Journal
When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade... Not sure why I'm using that reference but anyways, when life gives you a major hot guy, you make avoiding boundaries. (Only if you're me) I could tell you that I couldn't hold the phony baloney I don't like YOU, thing in any longer. I really didn't like him, but then again I did. And the queen bee Dana and her new three wannabee's we're all over the prime subject (As in Ross) before we could have our daily morning chats. Dana has to go down. And it'd take more than flying colors to beat her. (WHICH IS WHY I'LL NEVER TRY) ♀ + ♂ = ⁇
Love, Maia.
"Ms. Mitchell. Would you care to solve the equation?"
Sure, why not raise my hand first.
Solving the Equation
"G-E-EK," Dana coughed in her arms, more forcefully to me instead of the class. Ross looked at Dana with bitchy eyes. "BI-TCH" He coughed back. Mr. Edwin looked up in sudden surprise. The class all laughed at the classic Ross while Dana, and the wannabee's took it as if it didn't bother them.
I smiled at Ross while heading back to my seat. But I realized that Ross was in for more than he bargained for.
Ease Dropping on Ross's and Mr. Edwin's Conversation
It had been six minutes since Fourth period had ended, and Mr. Edwin has held Ross back in. I could hear every word perfectly clear, (It was a gift) and Ross was telling him, someone had to stand up to them.
