Marian slowly opened her eyes and saw that she was in her hospital bed.  Her head hurt and she let her mind begin to think.  She had a horrible dream that William had died.  She was surprised that she found herself alone in her room.  Where was Louis she wondered?  Where were her parents?  She pressed the call button for the nurse.

"Yes Ms. Swann?" The nurse asked as she came into the room.

"Do you know where my parents are or my fiance?" She asked.  "Maybe they're in the nursery with Will," she said out loud.

The nurse arched an eyebrow at her but didn't say anything.  She went about her business checking the IV's.  "Maybe ma'am.  I'll go and check." She said and quickly exited the room.  She wondered if Marian wasn't wanting to remember what had happened.  She saw Marian's parents coming down the hallway and went up to them.  "Um, Mr. and Mrs. Swann, Marian is awake, but....but I don't think she is remembering what happened to her son.  She is wondering where Mr. Tomlinson is and if you were in the nursery." She said nervously.

Rosalie felt her eyes well with tears again.  "Jeremy you go in," she said.  "I don't think I can see her just yet."

"Thank you nurse," Jeremy said with a sad nod.  He watched as Rosalie turned and walked back down the hall.  He made his way to Marian's room.  "Hi princess," he said sitting down next to her bed and handed her the glass of water that was on her bedside table.

"Daddy, where is Louis?" She asked looking towards the door.

"I...I don't know," he said.  "Maybe he went home to get some rest."

She continued to sigh heavily

She continued to sigh heavily.  "He could've told me," she said.  "How is William?" She asked.  "Is he taking his medicine?" She asked and glanced over at the table next to the bed.  She saw a small box and an envelope with her name on it.  She picked it up and saw that it was Louis' handwriting.  She opened the box and was stunned when she saw the snowflake pendant.  "Oh my, this is so beautiful," she said turning it around to show her father.   She quickly opened the envelope and pulled out a piece of paper.

As she started to read her smile quickly fell.

Dear Snowflake,

I know that you are expecting me to be sitting there by your side but I'm sorry to say that I can't.
