It was Christmas Eve morning, Kaia sat in the living room staring at the Christmas tree.  The lights shone brightly and she could hear the giggles of her children from the nursery as Zayn got them up.  She couldn't help but smile.

So much had happened to them again in the past year.  Some good and some not so good.  She sipped the tea in her hands and let the warmth of it go through her.

She was still on minimal voice rest, much to her annoyance.  But she knew it would be somewhat difficult to keep quiet as Zayn's family was coming down in a few hours to celebrate Christmas Eve with them and then they would spend Christmas Day together, just the four of them like they did the year before as it was a tradition that Kaia wanted to keep.

She set her cup down and picked up one of the photo albums that was sitting next to her.  She slowly paged through it and couldn't help but smile and cry at the same time.  It was filled with pictures from the past year.  There were so many pictures of her and the twins.  Zayn had gonea little picture crazy with the camera he had gotten after the twins were born.  Not that she minded.  She herself had taken many turns with it as well and had captured some great moments with Zayn and the twins.  She couldn't believe how fast they had grown.  She loved them so much.

She got to a section of pictures that Marian had taken on one of their dinner nights with her and Louis at their house.  It still pained her that Harry was now out of the picture, but she honestly couldn't help but smile when she could see the brightness and happiness in Marian's eyes.  And she could see how much Louis loved her.

There were pictures of her in the studio that she didn't know who had taken.  There were pictures of her with all of the boys.  Harry, Niall, Louis, her husband and Liam.  As she looked at the ones of her and Liam, it broke her heart as she could see the longing looks in his eyes.  Even if it was just a picture.  At the time she didn't make anything of it, because truth be told, she had no idea of the way he felt.  Part of her wished she would've known so she could've tried to put some sort of stop to it.  But she also wondered if it would've done any good at all.

With a heavy sigh she shut the album and picked up another one.  Her wedding album.  It was so full of love and everything she ever dreamed of that day.  Zayn had made her dreams come true.  In the past when she looked at the pictures, she hadn't really taken the time to 'look' at the pictures, but this time around, she did.  She was still amazed at the beautiful colors of the flowers, the cake, her dress, her family.  She had at one point asked Zayn how much he had spent and he politely told her it was none of her business.  She ran her hand over the picture of her and him on the beach with the sun setting behind them and then looked at the one on the next page.  It was similar to the one on the previous page but both she and Zayn were each holding one of the twins.  She quickly wiped away the tears that escaped.

"Baby why are you crying?" Zayn asked as he stepped into the living room, a twin under each arm.  Each of them squirming to escape their papa's arms.  He set them down and they toddled off into the living room towards some of their toys that were scattered about.  He moved towards her and sat down next to her.
