Chapter 37

 It had been a few weeks since Marian had returned to the house and was going to her therapy and chemo appointments.  

Harry told Zayn that the therapist wanted to have both Kaia and Marian attend a session together and today was that day.

"Baby," Zayn said as he watched Kaia brush her hair. "You need to relax. This will be good for the both of you."

"If you say so," she said. "She hates me, I know she does."

He shook his head at her and then walked over to her and kissed the top of her head. "You're both so damn stubborn and obstinate but you both love each other.  I think this is going to strengthen your relationship. Even if you both say things you've been holding in."

She sighed and knew he was right. She stood up and hugged him tight. "I love you."

"I love you too baby," he said. "I'll see you later."

She picked up her purse and went and knocked on Marian's door. She could hear Ahmir giggling from the other side. Kaia growled inwardly. "Time to go Marian," she said.

 Marian gave Ahmir one last hug and kiss.  "Time for Auntie to go to work. Ugh, I would rather stay here with you and play tickle monster."   She put Ahmir on her hip and opened the door and rolled her eyes at Kaia's presence.  When she had first returned to their house, things were okay, but as the weeks went on, there was a great distance between them again.  "Is Harry here already?"

 "I'm driving us," she said without even a glance at her son. He seemed to want nothing to do with her since Marian had returned. "I'll meet you in the car."

"Let's go see Daddy," Marian said kissing Ahmir's cheek.  "Fine, I will be there in a minute."

 Zayn watched as Kaia stomped out of the house. He couldn't help but shake his head and smiled when he saw his son. "Ready for your session?" He asked Marian.

She handed Ahmir to his father.  "I promised my therapist I would go into this session with no holds barred.  So expect her to come home crying and me looking for a new place to live." 

 He smirked at her. "Do you really think it will be that bad?"

 "This is Kaia we are talking about. She hates confrontation and that is the plan. You know bringing up the whole Harry/Louis thing, stuff from when we lived in California," she said with a very heavy sigh.  "She won't want me anywhere near her family when we are done I am sure of it. My therapist says I need to get every thing off my chest."

"Then I better have alcohol waiting when you ladies get home," he teased. "You're both going to be okay," he said gently. "You two despite the wall right now, need each other and I honestly think you'd both be miserable without each other."  He glanced up when he heard Kaia laying on the horn. He kissed her cheek. "You better go."

 "Thanks for everything Zayn. You truly are the best," she said hugging him and leaned over and kissed Ahmir on the cheek.  "I'm here calm down, woman!" Marian said as she got into the car. She had gotten used to Harry taking her to see Celeste and it kind of unnerved her to be going alone.

 As soon as Marian was in the car, Kaia sped off down the driveway. She was on edge about this whole thing. "Is your therapist nice?" She asked as they drove through London.

 "Yes, she has a nice soothing tone to her and has a kind nature. I feel secure talking to her." 

"That's good," she said. "How...how are you feeling about us going together?" She asked nervously.

"I'm unsure about it and I'm kinda scared you will hate me afterwards." She took a deep breath "We don't talk about heavy things, we gloss over it or hold it in. I have things I need to get off my chest," she said a little worriedly.
