Kaia woke up to hearing Zayn on the phone. She didn't know who he was talking to and she sat up and hugged him from behind.

"Of course," he said. "I'll get dressed and be there shortly. Did you and Rosalie get any sleep?"

Kaia rested her head on his back. She wished the last 48 hours were nothing more than a bad dream, but sadly it wasn't.

"See you soon," he said and hung up. He turned and pulled her into his arms. "I need to go to the hospital," he said. "Jeremy wants to talk to me about Marian.  Do you want to come alonge?" He asked.

She shook her head.  "No, I...I know she needs me, but I just can't this morning.  I'm sorry," she said sadly.

"Baby, it's alright."  He kissed the top of her head. "Try to get some more rest. I'm sure the next few days aren't going to be easy."

"Please tell me it's all a bad dream."

"I wish it was baby," he said gently. "I don't know how long I'll be gone."

"It's alright," she said trying not to cry again. "Just go and help take care of my sister." She said. "I'll call the funeral home and see when we can go and talk to them about Will....about his funeral," she said with a heavy heart.

He looked down at her and smiled sadly. "I love you Kaia," he said.

"I love you," she said and grabbed his pillow and hugged it to her chest as she watched him head towards the bathroom. She glanced at the clock and saw that it was still very early. It was only 7 a.m.

Zayn quickly showered and got dressed. When he walked back in the bedroom, he saw she was asleep again. He grabbed his phone, wallet and keys and checked on the twins before leaving the house. They were both still sound asleep. He hurried to the hospital. He found Jeremy waiting for him near the entrance and he could see it was as if he'd aged ten years overnight.  As if William dying wasn't bad enough, he could tell that there was something else terribly wrong.

"Let's...let's get some coffee," he said. "I need to tell you about Louis."

Kaia awoke again when she heard the car start in the garage. Her head hurt. She got up and went in search of some Tylenol and took it hoping it would help. As she walked past the guest room, she saw Liam sleeping. She stepped inside and pulled back the covers and lay down next to him.

Liam woke up with a start and was shocked that Kaia was laying down next to him in the bed, under the covers no less.  He sat up slightly and looked down at her. "Kaia are you alright?" He asked. What was she doing he wondered.

She took a hold of his hand and held it tight. "Zayn went to the hospital to talk to Marian's father," she said. "He called this morning that he needed to talk to him about her and...and I can't go and see her just yet, but I....I can't bear being alone right now," she said fighting back her tears.  "You must think I'm a horrible awful friend."

"I don't think that at all," he said and turned her and pulled her against him and just held her as she buried her face into his bare chest and cried but didn't say anything and he placed a kiss on her head, letting his lips linger.  "It's alright love," he whispered against her hair.  "I'll always be here for you, you know that."

"I know," she said quietly, absentmindedly letting her fingers trace circles on his chest.  "Why Liam?" Why does life have to be so cruel to those we love so much?" She asked.  "All she wanted was to be happy and after she had William, I have never seen her so happy."

"I wish I knew," he said as he continued to hold her, fighting the urges that were rushing through him as he felt her fingers on his chest.  Holding her like this was a double edged sword for him.  He craved her touch and it made him happy knowing that she still felt alright with coming to him, but he knew deep down that Zayn would kill him if he ever found out about everything.  "I wish I had the answers for you, but I don't."
