Chapter 57

It had been nearly three months since Kaia had left for her tour. Life had been considerably quiet without her around. The twins kept asking where Mama was. When was she coming home? Did she love them anymore? It was breaking Zayn's heart. He had done a lot of soul searching since she had left. 

He couldn't totally blame her for her affair. There were so many factors that figured into it. She was vulnerable. She always had been and he figured she always would be. He also knew she felt she didn't deserve to have anyone love her. But he couldn't abandon her. She didn't deserve it. He knew there would still be hurdles, but he loved her enough. He knew she was his soulmate. 

He packed his bag and some bags for the twins and then texted Marian.

 I have a favor to ask but I need to do it in person.

 Marian smiled at his text, she felt that Zayn needed another bff day.  Another movie marathon or trip to the farmers market. 

I'm all yours. Come over and we can have another one of our chats.

 He smiled and packed the twins up in the car and headed over to her flat. Once he was there, Ahmir was all but jumping out of his car seat.

 "T, papa, T!"

"Yes, farishta, hopefully, she will be willing to watch you and your sister while I go and rescue Mama."

Destiny had a sad face. She was really missing her Mama. She crawled into bed every night with her Papa and would cry herself to sleep.  He took their hands and went inside. Ahmir began to bang on Marian's door. "T! It's me!"

Zayn couldn't help but laugh at him. 

Marian could hear Ahmir banging on her door. She opened it up with a smile. "Hello, my little lion cub. How are you? Where is daddy?" She wondered as she scooped him up into her arms and kissed his forehead.

Destiny clung to Zayn as they came down the hallway. "Princess, it's going to be alright," he said as he stepped inside. "Hey," he said to Marian with a smile.

"Hey, what's going on?" Marian asked with a small frown as she looked at Destiny. "Harry went out to get food, so we have a little bit before he gets back.  Come on in." 

"Mama," Destiny sniffled and buried her face in Zayn's neck. He sat down with her on the couch. "So are you busy for like about a week?" He asked. He watched as Ahmir tore through the flat pulling out his toys. 

Marian grinned as she watched Ahmir dig out his toys. Harry had insisted on putting them in some sort of organized bin. "I have no plans except for working on my newest book. What are you up to Malik?" She asked.

"Could the twins stay with you?" He asked.

"Zayn you know the twins are always welcome here. As you can see your son is already making himself at home," she laughed. "What are you going to do once you are childfree?" She asked.

 "I'm going to California," he said as he held his princess close. 

"Zayn please tell you aren't going to California to see her?  Why are you doing this to yourself?"

 "Go play with your brother," he told Destiny and she reluctantly walked away. "Because I love her Marian," he said. 

"Are you sure she's the one?  Even after all she put you through?" Marian as the watched Ahmir try and cheer up his sister. "I only want you to be happy Zayn. I want all of us to be happy again."

"She's the one, Marian," he said. "I can't abandon her like so many others have. She's worth the fight."

 "If she is worth the fight you need to go to her and get your wife back. I will always be here for you when you need me. I will watch the twins for as long as you need me to." Marian said taking his hand. "What is your plan?"
