Curse 51 - Friend

"Is it really okay with you na maiwan diyan si Psyche? Sure ka na wala kang pasok ha?"

Hindi ako mapakali dito sa loob ng office ko while I'm talking to Cas over the phone.

I heard him chuckle a bit. "Relax Serenity." He said. "Oo nga okay lang sakin. Wala naman akong pasok today. I can take care of my niece, malakas yata sakin 'to."

I sighed with relief. Napaparanoid kasi ako masyado. Kaninang umaga lang nang nagtext sakin si Glenda na hindi siya makakapasok dahil nasa hospital ang nanay niya at walang magbabantay. Eh siyempre ako naman eh agad na naparanoid. Saan ko iiwan si Psyche? May pasok si Chaos at hindi naman pwedeng dalhin ko siya sa Sweet Mist kasi busyng-busy kami recently. Buti nalang ay dumaan sa unit kanina si Cas from jogging at ayun, he volunteered to look after our daughter.

"Sure yan Cas ha? We'll make it up to you."

"Its okay Ren." He laughed. "Ako bahala dito."

"Thank you talaga."

Agad ko nang binaba ang tawag at nagsimula nang gumawa ng monthly report about the branch for Tita Aleena. After that I have to meet with a blogger na gustong mag-celebrate ng anniversary ng kanyang blog dito sa café so that we can discuss that details. Then later I'll meet up with the pastry chef to discuss about the new pastries that we'll add onto our menu.

I know medyo hectic talaga ang trabaho ko and this thing is driving me nuts. But that's what it is, I also need to work hard now in order to provide for my daughter. Ibang-iba na ang sitwasyon ko noon at ngayon that I have Psyche. Kung dati I only work to pay my debts to Chaos, now I work to provide for our daughter and not to depend on Chaos.

So eto tayo. Work work work.

Lunch time na nang tumawag si Chaos sakin. Hindi ko man lang namalayan ang oras kasi tutok na tutok ako sa trabaho ko. "Hi." I smiled, but my eyes are still stuck at the computer screen.

"Hello baby." I can hear the exhaustion from his voice. Agad akong napasimangot.

Alam kong masyado nang mahirap para kay Chaos ang pagsabayin ang pag-aaral at pagma-manage sa PDN at company nila. Minsan nga nagigising nalang ako ng 2AM at nakikita siyang nag-aaral pa.

"Are you tired?"

I heard him chuckle. "No."

And of course, because he's Cassander Nathaniel Castillo, he'll deny it. Feeling superman din tong isang to eh.

"Sander naman eh. I told you not to exhaust yourself too much." I pouted.

"But I am really not exhausted baby." He insisted.

If I know. Kaya nga siguro napatawag tong isang to dahil pagod sa homeworks at kailangang mag-relax.

Sumandal ako sa upuan ko at pinikit ang mga mata ko. "Facetime..." I pouted.

Tumawa naman siya. "Okay wait lang." He said.

So yun, hinintay kong tumawag siya ulit but this time is naka-facetime na kami. I immediately saw him wearing his eyeglasses while combing his messy hair with his fingers. "Hey." He lazily greeted me.

My brows furrowed upon seeing his tired eyes. This guy is really exhausting himself. Napansin niya siguro ang expression ko dahil agad siyang napatanong. "What's wrong?"

"After school uwi ka na agad." He immediately smiled, he bit his lower lip. "I want to but I can't baby." Mahina niyang sabi na parang nagdadalawang-isip pa na sabihin sakin.

"Huh? Bakit?"

"Daxton called me. Something came up sa gaming corp. They need my supervision." He's seriously looking at me now, trying to read my emotions probably.
