A couple days later, it was Wednesday.
Lucifer's funeral.
Sam had promised Cas that he'd go to the funeral. He dressed in his black suit and put on a white tie. He took out all his piercings, and slicked back his hair.
Dean had promised Gabe that he would go as well. He was dressed in a black suit and a blue tie. He had slicked back his hair as well.
The two of them drove to the church where the funeral was held and got out. They went into the church and looked around, seeing the small gathering of people. Dean spotted his boyfriend talking to someone and went over to them.
Sam looked around for his boyfriend. He spotted him in a pew, kneeling down, his head bowed.
Sam watched him, stricken by his boyfriend. He looked like an actual angel to him. His hair seemed fluffier than normal. The suit he was wearing made him look like a professional...something. He waited for Cas to sit in the pew before going over and joining him.
Cas looked up at Sam and furrowed his eyebrows. He looked into Sam's eyes before whispering, "Sam?"
"Yeah? Who else would it be?" Sam whispered back.
"Wow..." Cas whispered breathlessly.
"What?"
"You...look so different without your piercings..." He gently touched Sam's face, running his fingers over the places where his piercings were. "You look...beautiful, Sam."
Sam smiled softly and kissed his head. "Thank you, Cas. You look like an angel."
Cas blushed and smiled at him. "Thank you, Sam."
They sat there quietly until Gabe came up and whispered something into Cas' ear. Cas nodded and stood up. He kissed Sam's cheek before stepping over his legs and getting out the pew.
Sam watched as the two of them met up with another boy and walked up to the alter. The three of them bowed before walking to the back.
He looked to his left and saw Dean walking down the pew to sit by him. When he sat, he whispered to Sam, "their dad wanted the three of them to serve."
"Oh..." Sam nodded and looked forward again.
Chuck sat next to Sam and thanked him for coming.
The funeral finally started and everyone stood up. Sam watched as the three brothers and the priest walked down the aisle, Cas carrying the cross.
They took their positions on the alter, Cas in the middle of Gabe and Michael. He looked directly at Sam, a pained look on his face.
Sam mouthed, "I love you," making Cas crack a tiny smile and look away.
Sam wished Cas was sitting next to him, so he could hold him in his arms and comfort him, but he knew that if he broke down, his brothers were going to be there for him.
