Missing you

Rileys POV:
I go to my locker to collect my books for class. Its weird not seeing him. I open the locker and see a picture of the two of us. A tear rolls down my eye. I miss him. Chloe comes over to me.
'Hey!'
I quickly wipe the tear away.
'Hey'
'How are you?'
'Im getting there. Its strange not having James around but Ill manage' I say with a shaky voice.
I turn around and take a book out of the locker. A few fall out.
'Damn it!'
'Hey its okay'
I bend down and pick them up. I drop another one. I sit down and put my head in my hands. Chloe sits down with me and puts her arm around me. I rest my head on her shoulder as I let tears fall.
'I miss him so much!'
'I know Ri. I know'
I start to cry. Some of the ones from my class see whats happening and come to comfort me.
'Why?! Why does this have to happen?!'
Michelle bends down in front of me.
'You know that he will be home again'
'But I dont know when!'
I sit there and just cry. It feels good to cry. I dont think I could have held it in much longer. The bell goes.
'Well we need to go to class. You dont have to go. The teacher will understand' Chloe says.
'No. Ill go. Its fine'
They help me stand up as I gather my things.
I walk into the class room and everyone smiles at me sweetly. I look over at where I sit and I see James seat empty. I take a breath in.
'You sure your okay been here?' Michelle asks.
'Yeah'
I go and sit down.
The teacher comes in and we start class.
I go to lunch and sit by myself. Beth comes over to me.
'Hey Riley'
'Hi Beth'
We sit in silence.
'So I was thinking that we could go into town after school. Just the two of us'
'Im fine thanks'
'Come on! We both need to! My best friend and your boyfriend is in England! And we both miss him. So if we just hang out together and maby talk about how we are feeling, it might help a bit'
I look at her.
'Pleeeaaaase?'
I smile.
'Okay. Ill come. But its not going to make me feel any better!'
'Trust me. It will!'
I smile as we go inside.
I hope shes right!

Im walking around town with Beth. We go into a café and order food.
'So have you been talking to James?' Beth asks.
'No. I havent gotten around to calling him yet'
'Well call him now then'
'Now?'
'Yeah'
'But he might be busy'
'Just call him!'
I sigh.
'Fine'
I take out my phone and call him.
It goes to voice mail
Yo this is James. I cant answer now so leave a message. If this is miss Riley then dont even worry about it babe!
I smile.
'Hey James. Its me. I just wanted to call to see how you were. I miss you. Call me if you need anything. Okay bye'
I hang up and look at Beth.
'Hell ring back. Dont worry' she smiles.
'I hope so'
We sit in silence.
'So how are you holding up?' I ask.
'Im fine'
'Really?'
'Yeah'
'Beth. I know your not. And I know you miss him alot'
She puts her head down.
'Yeah I do'
My phone rings.
Hello?
Hey!
James! Hi!
Whats up?
I was just wondering how you were after the flight
Tired but allright
I smile.
Whats England like?
Its...different. Nothing like Canada
Right
How are you?
Im good. Im hanging out with Beth at a coffe shop.
Awsome. How is she?
Grand out.
HEY JAMES!!! Beth screams.
I laugh.
HI BETH! he shouts back.
So when are you comming home?
Not sure
Why?
Riles! I only just got here! He laughs.
Yeah. Sorry. I just miss you so much.
I miss you too.
Hows the study going?
Ammm... well Im getting there
James. Dont lie to me.
I might have forgotten to study.
I laugh.
Of course you did!
Hey I gotta go. Call me tonight yeah?

Bye!
I end the call. Beth looks at me.
'See! That wasnt so bad was it?'
'I guess not. Thanks Beth. Its what I needed. It really did cheer me up'
She smiles.
'Your welcome. I told you it would help!'
I laugh as we get up and leave.
Im so glad that she made me go with her and that I got to talk to James again. I love him so much. I cant wait for him to come home again!
