Hard conversation

James POV:
I stand outside the door of my old house. I hear my mom clanging away at dishes and talking to someone. Probally Kevin as he is staying with her for the weekend. I knock on the door. A few seconds later my mom answers it.
'Hello James!. Kevin get out here! Your brother is here!'
Kevin walks out of the kitchen.
'Hey bro!'
'Hey'
I walk in.
'Now. I was talking to uncle Enzo and he said he'll see you tomorrow to help you pick out a suit for the wedding' my mom says.
'Mom I need to talk to you'
She looks at me.
'About what deer?'
'Sit down'
I turn to Kevin.
'Can you give us a minute?'
He nods and leaves.
I sit down.
'Look...am...Im here because Riley sent me over'
'Is she okay?'
'Yeah shes fine. I just am...need to talk to you about something'
'Of course'
'I...um...oh god'
'James are you okay?'
I look at her.
I knew this wouldnt be easy.
'You know you can tell me anything? Im always going to be here for you. Your my little baby boy'
I sigh.
'I-I cant do this. I gotta go. Ill see you later' I say getting up.
'James!'
I leave the house.
Rileys POV:
James comes into the appartment.
'How did it go?'
'Great! It went amazing!'
I look at him.
He goes into the bedroom and sits on the bed.
I follow him in and sit next to him.
'James...what happened?'
'I didnt tell her. I couldnt do it'
'Why?'
'Because shes my mom Ri! I couldnt sit there and see her happy and then come along and upset her! Do you know what she said to me? She said Im her little baby boy. How can you upset someone who says something like that to you?'
I sigh.
'Im sorry I pushed you. It was probaly too early to get you to talk to her'
'No its fine. Your right. I need to tell her. But just not yet. I will talk to her...just maby later on'
I nod.
'She told me I need to see uncle Enzo to look for a suit tomorrow'
I smile.
'If it makes you feel better...I could come along and help you pick out the perfect suit'
He smiles.
'I knew youd come eventually'
I laugh.
He leans in and kisses me. I smile.
'I love you Ri'
'I love you too James'
We lie down on the bed.
Maby James is right. He'll know when to talk to her. And when he does I know it will make a huge difference for him. Ill just leave him tell her when hes ready. And when he is ready...Ill be there for him all the way.
Because thats what love is.
