Needle

James POV:
I wake up and look around the room. I see a dark hooded figure in the corner. It steps foward revaling a face that I never wanted to see.
'Hello James'
'WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE!'
'Relax. Im only here to see how you are'
'Im perfectly fine!'
'You were lucky that that crash didnt kill you'
'I know it was you! And I know that you wanted to kill me!'
'What proof do you have?'
I stay silent.
'Exatly. You have none. But your right. I did cause the crash'
'Why would you do that?'
'To get Riley of course'
'How can you get her by causing a crash!'
'Because when your dead...shell be all mine'
'Shell never want to be with you! She doesnt even love you!'
'Oh James! Such a funny guy! You dont understand do you? I dont care if she loves me or not. I just want to be with her. and once your out of the way....Im free to do as I wish'
'Youll never get rid of me!'
He walks towards my bed. He picks up the photograph that Riley gave me.
'Well isnt this sweet. James and Riley together again'
He puts it back down. He reaches into the pocket of his hoodie and pulls out a needle. My eyes widen. This actually cant be happening right now!
'But you wont be together for much longer. Once this enters you...theres no going back'
I look at the needle then back at him.
At that moment Riley, Michelle and Amanda walk in.
'We heard shouting. Is everything okay?' Amanda asks.
They look at Alfie and stop.
'Alfie? what are you doing here?' Riley asks in a faint tone.
'I just dropped by to see James'
'Oh yeah? Then whats that needle for in your hand?' she asks more confidantly.
'Its for James. One shot of this, and its a matter between life or death'
'You wouldnt!'
'Wouldnt I?'
'Alfie please! Leave him alone!' she says starting to cry.
'You see Riley. All I ever wanted was you. And when you broke up with me, you crushed me. I knew I had to get you back, and what better way than killing James'
'You will never get back with me! And what makes you think that killing the person I love will help!'
I dont know how she can be so strong right now. But whatever happens Ill always love her. I just hope she knows that.
'I dont care if you love me back or not Riley. I just want to be with you and thats what Im going to get'
He grabs my arm and sticks the needle into it, and injects the liquid.
'AHHHHHH!' I scream as I feel my heart beat increase.
'James!!' Riley screams running over to me.
She grabs my hand. A nurce runs in. She stops when she sees Alfie with the needle.
'What have you done!' she screams.
I can feel my whole body getting weaker and weaker.
'I hope you enjoy your last time with him, because after today...your all mine'
She glares at him.
'Oh yeah. He only has an hour left to live, before he dies a painfull death' he says.
'Im calling the police!' Amanda says pulling out her phone.
'You sure thats a good idea? Cause if you do that...it wont only be your friend here who dies...but everyone else in this room. Including you'
She puts her phone slowely into her pocket.
'Good girl. Now Im going to leave this room and no one is going to say a word. Do I make myself clear?'
We all look at him.
'Good. Now enjoy the rest of your day'
He then leaves.
How can he just get away with this?
I turn my head to Riley. A tear rolls down her face. I weakly lift my hand to wipe it away. She places her hand on my cheek.
'How could he do this to you? You dont deserve this'
'Hey. Its okay. Im going to be fine allright?'
'No your not James. You only have one hour to live'
'Riley. Dont even worry about it'
She weakly smiles.
'Im going to miss that'
'Im not gone yet! I I have no intention of it!'
She smiles. A pain shoots through me and it gets worse.
'Ahhhh!'
Doctors run in and surround me. They usher the girls out of the room and then everything goes black.
