Confidence boost

Rileys POV:
We're back stage waiting to perform our small group. We decided to get here an hour eariler just so the dancers would have plenty of time to get ready. I look around but cant find Piper anywhere and shes part of the dance. I go over to James.
'Have you seen Piper?'
'Yeah. I saw her go over there somewhere' he says.
'Okay. Thanks'
I go to the direction he pointed me to and see her sitting on a bench. I go over and sit next to her.
'What are you doing here by yourself?'
'I just wanted to be alone for a bit'
'Why?'
'Just do'
'Well do you want to come and get ready?'
She shakes her head.
'Piper whats wrong? You can talk to me'
'You wouldnt understand'
'Try me'
She sighs.
'I-I dont think Im good enough for this team'
'What makes you think that?'
'I just feel usless. Like I cant help anyone. I mean look at Richelle. She knew that something was going on with Rose and she got the team through it. She can lead the team to victory. But me...Im nothing'
'Dont say that! You deserve to be on this team just like everyone else'
'But Im not like them. I cant do any of the amazing things that they can'
'Can I tell you something?'
She nods.
'Some people are born to lead like Richelle. Others are born to perform like Noah with all his crazy tricks and stuff(sorry. Couldnt think of anyone else for that)'
'What about me?'
'Well you...your quite a special person actually'
'Why?'
'Because you were put on this earth to be a kind caring person. Your the friend that everybody needs when something goes wrong. Its not always about what you look like, or your tallent or populatity. Its much more. Its about finding who you truly are and believing in yourself. Its whats inside you that counts'
She looks at me.
'You really think so?'
'Yes I do. Infact I know that if you dont hurry up and get ready, your going to miss the dance'
She smiles at me and hugs me.
'Thanks Riley'
'Your welcome. Now get out there and show them what you got'
She smiles and runs off.
'That was really sweet what you said to her'
I turn around and see James.
'Oh. How long were you there?'
'Long enough to hear everything that you said to her'
I put my head down.
'Your great with kids Ri' he says walking towards me.
'Its nothing really'
'Oh it is'
I look at him.
'I am...Ive put alot of thought into it...and I think that after Regionals we should give it one more shot for that baby'
I smile.
'Really?'
He nods.
I hug him.
'Id love to'
I kiss him.
'James! Riley! Their about to go on!' Kate calls.
We run over to them to see them walking on stage to start. Here we go.

'And the winner is...the next step!'
We did it! Weve made it to the next round!
They come running over to us.
'We did it!' they scream.
'Whos up for pizza!' James smiles.
We all leave to get some. Piper comes over to me.
'Thanks for the confidence boost. Its just what I needed. I feel better in myself now' she smiles.
'Anytime. Its what Im here for'
'You know...James is lucky to have you Riley. He really is'
She then runs off to catch up with the others.
I look at him as he walks ahead of me.
Im lucky to have him too. I just hope he knows that.
