Anniversary date

Rileys POV:
I apply the final bits of my make up before checking my hair in the mirror. I take one last look at what I am wearing and make my way down stairs. Im wearing a blue dress with heels, a bit of make up and lip stick. My hair is done up in a bun. I hear the door opening and my mom greeting someone. Im guessing its James as he said that he would be picking me up. Hes staying over at Eldons house while hes here.
'Riley sweetie! James is here!' my mom calls.
I walk downstairs and see James waiting for me. When he sees me his jaw drops open. His eyes scan me up and down. I stand infront of him.
'Hey' I smile.
'Your...you...' he stutters.
'Im?'
'Your beautiful'
I smile.
'Thank you. Your not bad yourself. Especially for someone who doesnt like suits'
'What are you talking about? I love suits! In fact I wear them all the time!'
'Oh yeah? Like when?'
'Well I cant really remember right now but I always wear one'
'Sure you do' I smile.
My mom comes into the hallway.
'Now Riley. A few ground rules. No drinking, smoking or speaking to strangers'
'Mom! Im going out on a date with James! Im not going to be doing thoes things! I dont even drink or smoke!'
'James you watch my baby girl okay? I dont want anything to happen to her'
'Dont worry. I got that covered' he smiles.
'Ive been on plenty of dates with him and Ive come back in one piece. Im going to be fine! Plus Ive got this guy to protect me. Just look at him! Isnt he adorable!'
I look at James who has a big grin on his face.
'And hes got mucels' I whisper to her.
'Right. Just be carefull okay. Dont come home too late'
'MOM! ILL BE FINE!'
She sighs.
'Well Im wathching a movie. Have fun'
'We will'
She turns around and goes into the sitting room. I look at James.
'You ready?'
He smiles and puts out his hand. I take it.
We step outside. I freeze when I see whats there.
There is a horse and cart with lights around it. Its so beautiful.
'James...'
'You like it?'
I look at him.
'I love it'
I lean in and kiss him.
'Shall we?'
We walk over to it and I step inside. James takes the reigns and gets the horse to move.
'Its so lovely out here' I say looking around.
'Yeah it is'
I look at him.
'So you really think that Im adorable?'
'What?'
'You said that I was adorable'
'That was just to get my mom to leave us alone. Thats all'
'So Im not adorable'
'I didnt mean it like that'
'So I am adorable'
He looks at me and smiles.
'Am...I guess'
'Well I think that your adorable too'
I put my head down as I feel my cheeks redden.
He laughs.
'Its hard to believe that weve been together one full year' I say to him.
'I can believe it'
I look at him. He smiles.
'Your the best boyfriend that Ive ever had. Well your the only boyfriend that Ive ever had but your still the best'
'So if I was to win boyfriend of the year, do you think Id deserve it?'
'Duh. Yeah!'
'Aww. Thanks Ri!'
'Your welcome Ja'
He smiles and wraps one of his arms around me and pulls me close to him. I snuggle into his chest.
'Your warm' I say to him.
He chuckles and kisses my head.
'I love you Ri'
'I love you too'
James stops the horses and I look around. Were at the park.
'Right. Lets go princess. We still have the rest of the night to go through' he says getting up.
I smile as he helps me out.
We walk along the park.
'What about the horses?' I ask him.
'Dont even worry about it' he smiles.
A few seconds later I hear someone running towards the park. I turn around and see...Eldon?
'Hey Eldon!' James calles to him.
'Hey bro! You want me to sort them out?'
'Yeah'
'Cool. Ill have them ready for you later'
'Thanks bro'
'No prob. Oh hey Riley! You look good!'
'Hi. And thanks. I think' I say a little confused.
Eldon leads the horses away. I look at James.
'What was that?'
'I got Eldon to mind them while we're on our date'
'O-okay. He will bring them back wont he?'
'Yeah'
'Okay'
We walk along quietly.
'James can I ask you something?'
'Sure. Shoot'
'Do...do you like it in England?'
He stops walking.
'A bit. Why?'
'Just wondering. What do you like most about it?'
'Dunno. Most things I guess'
'Like what?'
'Well the food is nice. And the people there are very welcoming. And the secenary is amazing'
'Oh'
'Why do you wanna know?'
'No reason. Just curious'
We start walking again.
'You should really see some of the buildings there. Theyre huge. Bigger than any here. And they have this big clock tower called the Big Ben. Ive never seen one so big. I was told that every year on new years eve, they have a big countdown cermony there. I was shown some videos and theyre amazing! Youd love it! And they also...'
'I want to move to England with you'
'What?'
I look at him.
'I want to move to England with you'
'Riley I...'
'Please James. I dont think I can last any longer not having you around. I need you with me'
'You cant just leave everyone'
'But you did'
'I had no choice. I was made move'
He stops me.
'Riley. I know how much you hate this and I hate it too, but we cant do anything about it. If you come to England, it might make us feel better but it wont make anyone else feel happy. At the end of the day family is more important that been with me'
'But you are my family James. Your a big part of it. Your like my brother and sometimes your even like the father that we never had. You are my family, and you always will be'
He sighs.
'Im glad you feel that way about me Ri, but I just cant let you come. It wouldnt be fair'
I put my head down.
'But I love you James'
'I know you do and I love you too. But we cant do this to your family. Okay?'
He takes my hands.
'Look at me Riley'
I raise my head.
'No matter how far away I am, we will always be together'
I weakly smile at him and hug him.
'Everything will be fine. Okay?'
I nod.
We make our way along the path.
'Wait here' James says to me as he dissapears in the distance. Suddenly lights flicker on. They are around trees and the fences.
He runs over to me.
'Step back'
I step back.
'Now look at the fence'
On it is a message. I read it.
'Happy anniversary princess'
I look at James who is smiling at me.
'Its beautiful James. Thank you'
'Your welcome' he smiles as he hugs me.
'This calls for some food!' he says as we sit down on the bench.
'Now since I stole your delicious shawarma at lunch today, I got you another one' he says handing it to me.
'Yessss! Shawarma!!' I smile.
He laughs.
He pours me a drink of juice. He raises his cup.
'To us Riley. That we shall always be together no matter what'
'To us' I smile.
We finish our food. James stands up.
'May I have this dance?' he smiles putting out his hand.
'You may' I say taking it.
I wrap my hands around his neck as he places his on my waist.
'I love you James'
'I love you too Riley'
I lean in and kiss him.
As Im dancing with James I realise that hes right. We will always be together no matter where in the world he is. As long as I love him and he loves me everything will work out fine.
Tonight is definatly the best night ever. I couldnt have asked for a better way to celebrate our anniversary.
I love him so much.
Hes an amazing boyfriend and always will be.
