Get ready for a very long and Cinderella inspired chapter. ;)
The second I walked through my front door I regretted it. "It's about time you're here! It's been a day!" Hurlbutt stormed towards me.
"The roads were flooded, what do you expect?" I brushed past her, making her face get angrier. "What was that?"
"Nothing."
"Poor Lucy was about to have a hear attack when we went to the basement." She walked to the naked cat in a pink sweater and cradled him in her arms.
"That reminds me, you have to clean it after the water drains it, the basements flooded." Hurlbutt frowned.
"Okay." I sighed and started to walk upstairs. "Who's clothes are those?" She asked, causing me to stop in my tracks. I'm still wearing Liam's clothes.
"They're awful manly....."
"Just some extra clothes my fiend let me wear when I stayed with him during the storm." I replied nervously.
"Him?" She raised an eyebrow. "You stayed with a guy...." Her face grew disgusted, yet mad, really mad.
"I had no where else to go. P-please don't get mad." I stuttered. "Just go upstairs." She said through gritted teeth, I nodded and ran to my room.
Incase you are wondering I started putting pills in her beer bottles and replacing the beer with water, she drinks it regularly so I don't have to worry about giving them to her anymore. I just barely open the cap and drop it in all of them after I drain the beer and pour water in them.
She's too crazy and stressed to noticed, I'm surprised she can still drive. Hurlbutt is messed up, but we all know that so why am I even saying that?
I decided to stay I Liam's clothes for now, I only had them on since last night. They smell like him and that comforts me when I'm here, I may have lived here most of my life, but this place is anything but homey. All that I will ever remember from here is heart breaking, violent memories.
My old home was perfect, but sadly it was destroyed. I've never told you this, because it still hurts, even though it's just a house. But then again, it was so much more than a house, it was home.
Despite the fact that the roads are still wet, and there's a lot of branches laying everywhere, I decided to go see the place where I once lived. I threw on a sweatshirt and some sneakers, not caring how crappy I looked.
Sometimes I just feel like I need to do something, even though it maybe be stupid and most definitely not the best time, I do it anyways.
Luckily Hurlbutt didn't notice when I crept out the door, the air is kind of cold for spring, the sky is cloudy, but no rain, and everyone's pretty much gotten the random debris out of their yard thanks to that stupid storm.
My truck is still at work, so Liam dropped me off here and I plan on walking, it's not that far. The roads are only slightly wet now.
You've probably noticed by now I do stupid things, like who just randomly decided to walk to their old home? Well that's me for ya.
I finally got to my street, I haven't been here since the day I saw my beloved home in ashes. Shuddering at the thought, I kept walking.
Memories, that's all it was as I walked down the street. It looks almost abandoned now, like a ghost town, that used to have such happy memories that are now long forgotten.
I could see my dad teaching me how to ride a bike when I passed by the fire hydrant, remembering when I crashed into it once he let go of the back of my bike.
