Finn's POV:

"You're falling Finn, and you're falling hard." Millie states firmly with a smirk plastered on her face. My lips part at her words that had me taken aback, with my heart beating rapidly in my chest as I just stare dumbfounded at her. She looks over her shoulder as her finger unravels my hoodie string, I follow her eyes to see Noah jogging over to us with his slick brown hair bouncing atop his head. "Hey, where you guys going?" He questions, his eyebrows stitched together in confusion. Millie takes a step away from me, her expression making it seem like nothing happened. "Just getting some air that isn't infused with sweat from all the people around us." She explains with an annoyed sigh, convincing Noah easily. "Y-Yeah, it was getting crowded." I add while rubbing the back of my neck, the curly ends of my hair grazing my hand. "Oh, well the games only halfway through.. are you gonna come back in?" He asks curiously as he gestures behind him. Millie glances over at me before looking back to him, pressing her lips together before answering. "I'd love to Noah, but I promised Ava I'd spend time with her today." She lies straight through her pearly, imperfect teeth. "Um.. I have to work down at the shop, some guy just asked me to cover." I say, lying to one of my best friends. "Oh, okay. Well I guess I'll just hang out with Kenzie then, see ya later guys." He says before jogging back to the game, leaving the two of us in the parking lot. "The shop?" Millie repeats, breaking the awkward silence between us. "Yeah, I work at a mechanic shop. Y'know, car stuff." I explain with a shrug, she just nods as a response. "So, what now?" She asks simply. "Well, since you obviously don't wanna be here: let's go have some fun." I exclaim before strolling towards my car with her soon following me. "Wait, what do you mean 'fun'?" She questions curiously, staring at me as we walk. "I guess you'll just have to find out, new girl." I say slyly before taking her hand in mine and speeding to my car.

With a loud snap of our car doors slamming shut, we sit in the front seats lightly panting from the jogging. "Where are we going?" Millie asks with a chuckle as we click in our seat belts. "I already told you: you'll have to find out, Mill." I answer with a grin before starting my Camero and driving out of the school parking lot with Twin Peaks quietly playing on the radio. After about 13 minutes of driving through town we finally reach the destination I had in mind, the Wolfhard's residence. "You're house?" Millie questions suspiciously as I shift my car into park on the driveway. "Mhm, you haven't even seen upstairs.. or the attic." I explain dramatically, giving her a wink as she just playfully rolls her eyes before stepping out the car, with me soon following. I lead her to my front door where I use the same house key located behind a dislodged brick, unlocking the door before replacing it carefully. "Remind me to steal that key one day." Millie jokes as we walk into the home I've lived in all my life, closing the door behind me.

"Hey, you're home. Good, I need you to-" Nick greets as he strolls into the living room from the kitchen, eyeing his phone until he looks up to see Millie standing next to me. "Uh hi.. Millie, was it?" He guesses, she nods approvingly as he comes towards us. "We never officially met, I guess. I'm Nick, this loser's older brother." He introduces while shaking her hand, nodding towards me as I roll my eyes. "Great to actually match a name to a face, he talks about you a lot." Millie exclaims, causing him to smirk as he releases her hand. "Really? About how much more amazing I am?" He jokes while crossing his arms, allowing me to groan in annoyance. "No, actually about how close you guys are.. he really seems to admire you from the way he tells stories about the two of you." She answers, taking his question seriously. I nervously bite my nails as his smirk falters and is replaced with a reminiscent smile. "Wait, so are you guys dating?" Nick questions after spacing out for a few moments. I practically choke on my own breath as the words roll off his tongue, not prepared for such a question. "Uh.. no, not yet." I answer quietly, both of their eyes trailing to me slowly. "Yet?" They both say in unison, I only shrug sheepishly. "I don't know, gotta go." I say quickly while pulling her away with me, leading her upstairs and into my semi-messy room. I let out a sigh before relaxing from the awkward situation downstairs.

"Um.. so this is my room, sorry about the mess." I say while swiftly gathering the dirty clothes scattered on the carpet floor. "It's fine, cleaner than my brother's room." She mentions with a shrug as she looks at my posters of Twin Peaks, old 80s movies, and New Order taped to the walls, scanning them up and down. "E.T?" She questions in amusement, pointing to the poster with her thumb. "Yep. It's a classic." I exclaim before taking throwing the pile of clothes in my arms into my laundry basket as she only giggles. "You never told me you liked 'classic' movies." She explains with air-quotes, an intrigued glimmer in her brown eyes. "Well, I kinda grew up around it, my dad used watch old movies with Nick and I every weekend. I guess I've just always liked the whole 80s era." I explain, shrugging as I sit on the edge of my bed. "You have any vinyl music then?" Millie asks curiously as she sits down next to me, our shoulders grazing each other. My brows raise at her sudden knowledge, looking at her in slight shock. "I'll take that as a.. yes?" She guesses with a chuckle, snapping me back to reality. "Uh y-yeah, up in the attic." I answer, gesturing above us. "Cool, how 'bout you show me." She suggests while standing to her feet, gesturing for me to show her. "I don't know if you'll be up for it." I say with a smile as I stand and walk into the hallway, reaching up to pull down the folding staircase the rattles down. "After you." I insist with my hand out to help her up the old staircase. "This better not disappoint, beanie boy." She warns as she cautiously takes my hand and climbs up, with me close behind.

Once we both make it up I pull the staircase back into place, looking over my shoulder to find her already flipping through the old box full of vinyls my dad kept. "Wow, there's some pretty good ones in here." She mentions quietly as I walk up behind her, looking over her shoulder at the collection. I reach over her hand to pick the familiar cover to the one song I loved in particular. "Foreigner's, Waiting For a Girl Like You." I read while carefully taking it out of the box, rubbing my thumb over the cover. "My mom has always loved this one." I add before walking over to the record player covered by a dusty sheet in the corner. I gently pull off the sheet and blow the dust off the old machinery, taking the large disc out of the cover and placing it on the record player, allowing the needle to start the wonderful song I've always enjoyed hearing. Instantly the 80s-esk music starts filling the attic as I sit down on the ripped couch next to Millie, waiting for the artist to start singing. "So long- I've been looking too hard, I've been waiting too long." The man's voice sings smoothly, much to my pleasure. I bite my lip as my hands fidget with each other, a question in my mind begging to be heard aloud. "Hey Millie?" I ask, grabbing the attention from the girl who was continuing to eye out the old room. She responds with a light hum as her brows raise at me. "Would you like to dance?" I question casually, though sudden rush of nerves through my body says otherwise. Her eyebrow raises in curiosity before she speaks, "Dance?" She repeats nervously. "Yeah, c'mon it'll be fun." I explain while standing, turning to her with my hand ready to help her up. Her soft lips press together as she accepts my gesture, causing a sudden smirk to find my own lips.
