Guess who actually went to school?
This terrible gamer! You know who practically doesn't?
If you guessed teenage MCs, you'd be correct.
I don't have anymore pizza to give you, but good job!Just imagine for the next two or three moments a scene that's always always ALWAYS in a fanfiction. School-related, that is.
Homework?
Tests? The Canon "just happening" to sit by Fan?
Or my personal favorite, when Fan runs away with Canon and doesn't go to school at all?
Because who wouldn't let a teenager run around with a blue hedgehog or boy band or psychotic murderer??
Me, that's who mother duckers.
Just lemme step back a bit.
If Sonic actually did exist and ran up to my school and asked me if I wanted to get the heck out of there, I would willingly go in a heart beat.Unfortunately, teachers would be too busy blaring lock down alarms and shutting us all inside classrooms and calling animal patrol to give a dang about me or the hedgie.
And even if I DID go, the teachers would know in a heartbeat. Then they'd ask all the school faculty if they've seen me, then call my parents, THEN the police would be called and–
Yeah. No. That's just reality.
But this is the magical land of Fanfiction, where "reality" is a term choked in nitroglycerin and flushed down the closest toilet.
Teenage girls are allowed to run freely with men 10 years or older and everyone gives dick diddly about it.Homocidals are allowed to kidnap kiddos on the street or at home and the police have to turn a blind eye because it's just another love fest waiting to happen.
It's a world where animatronics have actual balls and people can screw animals without anyone thinking of beasteality.
..I'm getting off topic again.
OKAY.
You know what school does to most teenagers?
It stresses them.
And some kiddos are unable to handle stress– or they don't handle it very well.
Or they could have something (anxiety, depression...insomnia...) that makes it even more of a challenge.Because even if you like school, there's always one fact that no one can deny: SCHOOL SUCKS.
Oh yeah, you get to see friends and learn topics to help you get a job, but in the long run it can do you a great harm. Especially if you have parents who are strict with grades or you have a teacher that gives tests with questions you don't remember going over.
That's another thing I need to cover: Grades.
Why is it that every Fan I see gets good or somewhat good grades??
You know who was a straight C student??
SAILOR MOON. The queen of Mary-sues had the WORST grades of her class. But in that aspect, she's better than most MCs on here.
Not everyone is a straight A student or even an A-B student.
I used to have report cards that sang D, D , D, D, D, D, F.
And now I'm pretty moderate with grades. Knock on wood.
And yet ANOTHER thing we don't cover enough on characters: Growth in development.
Characters have to overcome obstacles and change in some way. Or they can be the ones who go through an entire story and not change one but. But what fun is that?
In school, if a character has low grades, maybe they could aspire to gain higher grades?
Or maybe they're slackers who'd take an F on anything and their personality grows instead? One last scenario that I find annoying even though I've used it: The New Neighbor.
That scene when Canon moves in next door or Fan starts going to a new school and romance just blossoms in the dead of winter.
And thus, I'm now a hypocrite because I've used this before.
...I just realized I need to start putting my oneshots and crap on Wattpad. I literally haven't written anything of value since—Again, getting off topic.
If Canon walks up to Fan's door and is stunned by his/her appearance that immediately they're head over heels, then get out. Fix it.
That's it, I'm done for the day.
Actually, no.
I made chapter 69 very serious and now I glance over it and think," Mother of Chaos, Worst, you're such a ducking disappointment."So..VOTE!
COMMENT!
DON'T BE 69ING ANYONE!!!!!
