After Barry realized what he had just thought, he widened his eyes. He didn't know that he had such feelings for her. He had to keep them hidden for Patty's sake. Barry continued to tap his feet impatiently.
He was now in the waiting room. Barry didn't want to even think about leaving. He needed to know that Caitlin was safe. He continued to blame himself for what happened.
Barry waited hours and hours for someone to come out. FINALLY, a doctor came out and entered the waiting room. Barry looked at the doctor and stopped tapping his foot. He immediately stood up and walked to the doctor."How is she?!" He asked in full worry.
The doctor sighed.
"Caitlin is okay, she just came out of surgery. The bullet was in her appendix. We managed to get the bullet out and she stayed with us. I'll takes you to her room. She's still unconscious." The doctor explained. Barry nodded and followed the doctor to the room.
Once Barry entered the room and saw Caitlin, a tear slid down his cheek. He didn't understand why he was so sad about this when he barely knew Caitlin. The doctor sighed and left the room to give Barry room. Barry then sat in the chair right next to the hospital bed. He picked up Caitlin's hand gently and looked at her beautiful face. Her eyes were closed and she looked quite peaceful. Barry teared up looking at all the cords hooked to her. He saw the breathing tube under her nose and the cords hooked to her wrist and finger. He then kissed her forehead feeling relieved that she was breathing and will be okay. Barry then stood up; letting Caitlin's soft hand go gently. He then exited the room. He knew that Caitlin would be okay, so he left the hospital and walked home.
Caitlin felt a cold breeze hit her face and her eyes gently and very slowly opened. She didn't move her head and looked around the room.
"What happened..." She thought to herself looking at all the cords attached to her. The room was empty. It was quiet. She was alone and confused. Caitlin slowly tried to sit up but she could barely move. She felt numb and in pain. Suddenly a nurse entered the room."You're awake!" She said sort of excited. Caitlin gave a very slight and awkward smile.
"How do you feel?" The nurse asked while walking over and checking Caitlin's cords."I feel fine...sore." Caitlin replied. The nurse nodded.
"Well you won't get to leave for a week, so rest easy."
Caitlin nodded and closed her eyes to rest. She started to wonder where Barry was and she got worried.
The next day, Barry woke up and slowly stood up. His leg was in pain, but he felt fine so he limped to school after putting another bandage on his wound.
Barry entered the school and Patty ran to him and hugged him."Oh my god! Are you okay?! I heard about the accident It's all over the news they are still looking for that guy that hurt you!!" She said in full worry.
Barry sighed and kind of hugged back.
"I'm fine, don't worry about it." He said emotionless. Patty nodded.
"Well welcome back, baby." She said before kissing his cheek. Barry didn't smile and walked off.***a week later***
Caitlin opened her eyes and stood up. She got out of her hospital gown and changed into her own clothes again. She kinda smiled; excited to be out of that stupid hospital. She was ready to be back in school.
