Unexpected Chemistry

The Flash

Barry made his way over to Caitlin's house. He couldn't wait to tell her what happened.

"Hopefully she isn't angry with me." He muttered to himself before hesitantly walking through the front door. Caitlin looked over.

     "Hey, did everything go okay?" She asked while walking over. Barry sighed. Caitlin tilted her head.

     "What?" She spoke.

     "It was true, Iris kidnapped Jay, but with Patty." Barry replied. Caitlin furrowed her eyebrows.

     "What the hell?" She responded. Barry nodded slightly and ruffled his fingers through his hair stressed.

     "Where's Henry, is he okay?" He changed the subject. Caitlin nodded.

     "I put him to bed, it was getting late." She answered. Barry nodded and walked to the kitchen. Caitlin followed him.

     "Okay, back up. Patty helped kidnap Jay?!" She demanded in confusion. Barry nodded while pouring coffee in his cup.

     "Yup. She said she felt bad for Iris and also didn't trust Jay. For some apparent reason. I'm just so pissed off because I thought she was better than that. After all of the years I spent with her, I never cut her out to be a bad person." He ranted. Caitlin sighed.

     "Barry, Patty is not a bad person. Remember when she saved me? Remember when she stayed with you after I left? Remember how she was upset that I came back but not only did she keep most of it to herself, after I talked to her she was so understanding. There's no way in hell she's the villain." She replied talking with her hands too. Barry turned and looked down at her.

     "None of this makes sense." He muttered. Caitlin nodded.

     "I know, but we will figure it out. We always do." She comforted. Barry nodded and sighed.

     "I have to get back to S.T.A.R Labs. I have to figure this out." He spoke before leaving the kitchen. Caitlin let his hand go and nodded. She couldn't go, she had to stay with Henry. Barry then turned to her and stopped walking. Caitlin was looking down. She then looked up at him confused.

     "What's up?" She questioned. He then walked over and kissed her. Caitlin smiled slightly and kissed back.

     "I'll be back soon. Don't worry." Barry comforted before kissing her head and walking away. Caitlin nodded.

"Be careful. Never know what's going to happen anymore." She muttered. Barry nodded and left the house. Henry then came out of his room secretly. He examined Caitlin's expression and how upset she seemed. He tilted his head and walked out of the room.

"Mom?" He called out confused. Caitlin turned to him and planted a smile on her face.

"Henry, you're supposed to be sleeping!" She remembered. Henry crosses his arms and stared at her.

"Why are you sad?" He questioned. Caitlin tilted her head and walked to him. She held his hand while walking him to his bed.

"I'm not sad, Henry. Why would you think that?" She asked while tucking him into his blankets. Henry sighed.

"Mom, what's wrong?" He asked more concerned. Caitlin looked down.

"Don't worry Henry, it's no big deal. I'm just worried about Dad." She replied. Henry then sat up.

"Let's go!" He exclaimed.

"What? Where?" Caitlin asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"Let's go to S.T.A.R. Labs and help! If we're there, we won't have to worry about dad!" Henry answered joyfully. Caitlin shook her head as Henry hopped out of bed.
