Unexpected Chemistry

Back to School

Caitlin checked out of the hospital now scared. She forgot to realize that the police still haven't found her uncle. She sighed and drove to school. Caitlin was a tad anxious because everyone in the school probably knew about her being shot because she was in the news, but then she remembered Barry.
She hadn't talked to him all week and that's what made her most anxious. He was there when she got shot, but Caitlin doesn't remember what else happened. She walked into the school and walked to her locker. Nobody was even looking at her. It finally came to Caitlin's mind again; she's invisible. She grabbed her bag and closed her locker; just like a normal day. Caitlin then turned around and saw Barry holding Patty's hand walking down the hall.
Caitlin couldn't help but feel a tad broken. She didn't understand why she was feeling jealous!
'No, I don't have feelings for him I swear!' She thought to herself in a panic. She hen hurried to class; walking a little slow because her stomach was still a little sore. Caitlin then walked into her cold classroom. She shivered a little bit and sat down avoiding everyone in the room. Mr. Jones looked up from his desk and saw Caitlin.
"Welcome back, Miss Snow!" He said with a slight smile. Caitlin smiled back and nodded slowly. Barry heard what Mr. Jones said and he lifted his head straight up. Caitlin kept her head down and just stared at her desk. Barry let out a small smile of relief as Patty was caressing his hand. Barry didn't pay attention to Patty, he was too focused on Caitlin.
Her auburn hair falling down her back, the sun coming in through the windows. The rays beaming on her beautiful soft glowing skin. She looked peaceful and calm to him. Barry couldn't get his eyes off of her. Her beauty astonished him and made him get butterflies in his stomach.
Patty noticed that Barry was distracted, she just couldn't understand what about. She lined up his eyes and followed to where he was looking and saw Caitlin. She let go of Barrys hand slowly with a slight smile and started to work more on her paper. Barry didn't even notice and he kept looking at Caitlin.
Caitlin was thinking a lot about Barry. She couldn't see him because she was sitting in the front row, but she wanted to look at him. She missed seeing his perfect eyes and his appealing face. She missed standing close to him and talking to him. Caitlin sighed thinking to herself and suddenly the sun went away. Clouds rolled in making the sky very dark. Caitlin smiled had been gone and Barry noticed the change of the sky and gathered that Caitlin must've been sad or lonely.
A lightening bolt struck in the sky and a loud roll of thunder clapped in the sky and Caitlin flinched and rain came pouring down like a loud rapid fast stream. Everyone's eyes looked out the window in shock from the quick change of weather. Barry continued to look at Caitlin and when another clap of thunder sounded, Barry stare ended and he looked out the window. The leaves on the trees were flying off so fast and the wind was heavy, making the trees away to the side roughly. Even Mr. Jones was distracted by the odd weather.
Caitlin was completely interested in the weather and she slowly stood up and walked up to the window. She looked up at the green sky as more students walked to the windows. Caitlin saw clouds swarming fast and close together. She looked at Mr. Jones.
"Sir, we need to take cover there's a tornado forming!" She exclaimed with still weak and raspy voice. Mr. Jones went to the window and saw the tornado forming and he widened his eyes.
"Everyone get under a desk and hold your heads! Fast!" He shouted very fast and loudly. All of the students panicked and ran under the desks covering their heads. All expect for Barry and Caitlin. Caitlin looked over and saw Barry still sitting at his desk; zoned out. She then looked outside and saw the tornado coming towards the school at full speed and high strong winds. Caitlin then backed away from the window and ran over to Barry without hesitation. She then yanked him off the chair and went under the desk with him.
Barry immediately snapped out of his stare and looked at Caitlin. Caitlin looked into Barry's eyes and then covered their heads with her arms. Barry put his arm around Caitlin and they were ducked safely under the desk. The tornado then hit the school; making a loud crashing noise. It was easy to tell what part of the school was hit. It was a pod of classrooms on the North side. Barry and Caitlin were on the North side of the school, but luckily they were no where near the pod.
Mr. Jones came out from under his desk and slowly stood up. Some pieces of chalk had fallen from the chalkboard and some posters that were hung on the walls had fallen down. Other than that, there was no damage in the room. Barry and Caitlin both let go of their grip on each other and came out from under the desk. Patty stood up holding her head in pain. Mr. Jones and Barry both went to her.
"Patty, what is wrong?" Mr. Jones questioned slightly worried. Patty felt dizzy and tried to make eye contact with the teacher.
"I-I don't know...I hit my head in the desk...I think." She answered. Mr. Jones nodded.
"She must go to the nurse...Barry, why don't you take her?" Mr. Jones insisted. Barry nodded and grabbed Patty's hand. Iris came up from the desk and saw the worry Barry had when Patty got hurt. Iris then became jealous and fell to the floor in "pain". Mr. Jones, Barry, and Caitlin looked at Iris in confusion. Patty was still holding her head in pain. Iris groaned in pain and put her hand to her head. Mr. Jones walked over to her.
"What happened, Iris?" He asked. Iris kept holding her head.
"It-It's my head...it hurts bad." She muttered. Mr. Jones sighed and looked at Caitlin.
"Caitlin, why don't you take her?" He insisted. Caitlin nodded slowly. On the inside, she hated the fact that she had to take Iris. Barry looked at Caitlin and Iris and then walked Patty out of the room.
