Unexpected Chemistry

We Will Last

     Barry was slowly walking back and forth around the waiting room. The receptionist was taking calls down the hall. Cisco had taken Henry to school. Felicity and Oliver were sitting in chairs watching Barry. They were holding hands tight in worry. Barry had his hand resting under his chin with his other arm across his waist. Felicity looked down upset.

     "Mr. Allen?" The doctor called out. Barry looked over right away and jogged to her.

     "Doc, is everything okay?!" He questioned.

     "Hey, Barry?" Caitlin called out while walking into the living room. Barry looked up while stuffing popcorn in his face. Caitlin walked over and sat next to him.

     "Patty just texted me. Her and Mr. Jones did it." She spoke while putting her legs over his. Barry looked at her with slightly widened eyes.

     "Like...The sex?!" He asked. Caitlin laughed and nodded.

     "Yes, the sex. Mr. Jones could seriously lose his job!" She exclaimed. Barry nodded in agreement.

     "It'll be okay, if they end up falling in love, his job won't matter much anymore." He spoke with a calm voice. Caitlin smiled slightly at him and kissed him.

     "What was that for?" Barry asked after kissing back. He had a smile planted on his face. Caitlin chuckled slightly.

     "Promise me something." She said while looking down. Barry set the popcorn aside and looked at her.

     "What is it?" He asked patiently while stroking her hair and moving it out of her face.

     "Promise me that this will last. Us." Caitlin spoke. Barry paused and used his fingers to lift up her chin. He looked into her eyes and kissed her.

     "Of course we will. Nobody has ever made me feel the way you do. That definitely means something. I love you." He answered with a smile. Caitlin kissed back as the two touched foreheads.

     "I love you too." She replied before resting her head on his chest. Barry sat back with her and played the movie.

      "Cait, all I'm saying is that there was room for both of them on that wooden door!" Barry exclaimed. Caitlin stared at him and laughed.

     "Jack made a sacrifice! He loved Rose and didn't want to risk having them both fall in the cold water!" She argued. Barry crosses his arms and looked at her. Caitlin squinted her eyes and sighed.

     "Fine! There was room for both of them!" She admitted before walking to the kitchen. Barry chuckled and threw his hands in the air with victory. He entered the kitchen and looked at Caitlin.

     "Hey, you." He mumbled. Caitlin turned to him with a smile.

     "What?" She asked with a soft tone. Barry walked to her and wrapped his arms around her waist. Caitlin put her arms around his neck and looked up into his eyes.

     "Remember back in April? You asked if we'd last. I said yes. I really meant that. I think we'll last forever. We'll have a really happy life...together." Barry spoke. Caitlin smiled softly and kissed him. Barry kissed back and the two hugged.
