Shawn:

🌸8 years later🌸

Today Skyler plays her first State Championship game in soccer. I'm so happy for her that she can do this.

Of course I'm scared, because she isn't supposed to play the game, but I can't keep her from doing something that she loves and that interest her.
It's her dream, and she needs to live it, even if there is a risk to it.

But every action has a reaction. There's nothing in this life that you'll get to do, without it having an impact on your life. That's something I've learned over the years.

"Daddy!" She yelled from her room.

Let me just tell you, living with two women isn't the most easiest thing in the world. They team up against you, because they're 'always right'.
But I love my girls, and even though times are tough and they get a bit too much, there's nothing I'd trade them for.

They're my life.
And I won't trade in this life I'm living, for any other life.

"I'm coming!" I yelled back, quickly putting my things away and hanging my guitar up on the wall again before running up the stairs to her. "Look!" She chuckled, pointing to her shoe. "I tied the laces!" She smiled.

It's the cutest thing now, because she's missing her two front teeth, and she looks adorable.
"I'm so proud of you!" I said, kissing her forehead as she smiled.

That's one thing I'll always do for her, despite anything else, I'll always be here for her. And it's important for me that she knows that. And that no matter how far I am from her, she's always in my heart and I'm in hers.

No distance can be put to this love I have for her and Maya.

"But.. I can't tie the other one. It just won't work out." She said sadly and I picked her up, placing her down on her bed as I crouched down infront of her, tying the laces for her.

"There you go." I said and she pecked my cheek. "Thank you daddy." She smiled. Gosh I love my baby girl.
Her sweet smile instantly turned darker and she ruffled up my hair.

I gasped loudly, trying to over exaggerate about what she just did. "You little stinker!" I said and she laughed, as I grasped her in my arms and threw her over my shoulder. I ran with her down to the living room.

She continued laughing as I threw her down on the coucch and started tickling her. "Hey hey hey!" Maya yelled as she walked through the door. Immediately we both sat up on the couch, still laughig snd smiling.

"Mommy, you're no fun!" Skyler groaned as I stopped playing with her. "Yeah. You're no fun mommy!" I said, picking my daughter up from the couch and she climbed around me till she was on my back.

"I am fun! This is just not the right time for this. Everything has its place and time." She said and I walked closer to her with a smirk on my face. "Hold on tight Sky." I whispered to her on my back, feeling her little arms tightening around my neck as she held on for life and death.

Her soft chuckle filling my ears, as she know what I want to do.
I believe we share he same mind.

"No. Shawn don't come closer." She laughed as I stopped infront of her. She kept on stepping back, till I took a leap and wrapped my arms around her. Skyler laughed loudly as Maya laughed along.
I picked her up and threw her down on the couch as Skyler jumped off my back.

"Everything has its place and time you said." I smirked, hovering over her. The smile on her face is still indescribable. And I can't get it out of my head.

"I love you." She chuckled, pressing her lips to mine. "We need to get going." She whispered as I laid down on her. Feeling her hands combing through my hair. I smiled into her neck, placig a few sweet, small kisses down before looking up at her.

"I know we need to go. But I miss you." I pouted.
"I know I've been busy with work a lot, but I promise after this single I'll be home for a long time. Well that's till you start to work again." She said and sent me a sweet smile.

"But I miss holding you, kissing you, touching you..." I said, sitting up and pulling he rup from the couch. Our lips against inches away and I smiled. "And I miss loving you." I whispered, seeing the smirk forming on her lips.

Just as we were about to kiss, Skyler came running down the stairs. She looked at her and smiled. "Nooo!" I groaned loudly. Skyler ran up to me and I picked her up on my back again. "I still want that kiss though." I said, pouting my lips out and she smiled, crashig her lips to mine.

"I want a kiss too mommy!" Skyler said, leaning over my head to get to her mum. "Sky!" I laughed as her hands were all over my face to keep her balance.

She's a goofball.

Maya gave her a kiss and she took her regular position on my back again. "Let's go Mendes's" I yelled, running out the door with Sky on my back as Maya grabbed her bag.

Time to watch this game.

I know she'll do amazing, but I'm still scared for her lungs. She's been practicing a lot, both at home and at school with the team.

I've gotten phone calls numerous times from the coach, saying that Skyler can't breath and she needs to stop playing the sport or at least get a oxygen pump, to just open up her lungs again.

We've taked to her about it, but she still procrastinates against it.
She wants to play.

I'm just scared that something will happen, because then I'll feel like it's my fault, because I couldn't stop her.

But only time will tell.
