Chapter 6 - Cole Garcia

(POV Maddie)

Maia Saavedra. I wonder why Jared's compulsion is not working on her. Aside sa akin, kay Maia lang hindi tumatalab ang compulsion power ni Jared.

Is she a supernatural creature? No, I don't think so. I can't feel any power coming from her.

Ever since she found out about Jared's secret, my brother seems to be on a mission to make her suffer. It is as if she's doing everything he commands.

I am using Aunt Lena's car, pero si Jared naman ay hatid sundo ni Maia. Para siyang may instant muchaha and I can't help but to pity the girl. Jared is indeed a loathsome demon king.

Kahit madalas ay pinepeste ko ng kakambal ko, hindi ko magawang magalit ng sobra sa kanya dahil kamukha niya ang daddy ko. Kung ang daddy ay may perfect moreno skin, si Jared naman ay may porcelain skin. He can easily be noticed because of his beautiful face and fair complexion.

Papasok na sana ako sa school nang makita ko si Cole na naka-upo sa living room. Mabilis akong tumakbo papunta sa kanya at niyakap siya ng mahigpit.

"Kailan ka pa dumating? I missed you so much Cole," I said as I kissed his lips.

Cole Garcia is my dad's assistant. He was an orphan at ang Lolo Rusty ko mismo ang kumupkop sa kanya. My dad and my grandfather saved him sa isang fire accident when he was still a baby, but my father already told me it was a vampire attack sa isang bahay ampunan. He is already in early thirties, but this man still looks ruggedly gorgeous.

"Julia, baka makita tayo ng kapatid mo. He will definitely kill me once he sees us like this," mahina niyang sabi sabay tulak sa akin ng bahagya.

"Takot ka ba kay Jared? Wala siya dito, sinundo na nung bago niya laruan."

"Tao lang ako, he is the demon king. Do you really need to ask that? Nasaan nga pala ang Uncle Silawin at Aunt Lena mo? Nasa Vienna na ba sila?"

"Wala sila, tayo lang ang tao dito," sabay lagay ko ng kamay sa batok niya para yakapin siya.

I kissed his ears at the outline of his jaw. Slowly, I lowered my kiss to his neck down habang tintanggal ang damit niya.

"Julia, andito ko para mag report about kay Maia Saavedra," sabi niya as he gently pushed me away.

"Fine! Isang linggo ka nawala, yayakapin ka lang ayaw mo pa."

"Julia Maddison, you are not exactly hugging me."

Yeah, he is right. I am not just hugging him. I am seducing him as if I am ready to make love to him, but it seems walang effect sa kanya! Tsk!

"Asan na ang report mo? Di ba yun lang naman ang purpose mo kung bakit ka nandito? What have you found out?"

Cole just sighed and gave me a brown folder with the detailed history of Maia Saavedra. He knows that I like him since I was a kid, but this man seems to have a Masters and Doctorate in self control.

"Maia is just a normal kid. Ang tanging palaisipan sa akin is her father. It seems like her mother got pregnant by an unknown man."

"I see, kaya pala niya gamit ang last name ng lolo niya na Saavedra. Her father is the missing link. I bet he is the answer to this mystery. Jared can't compel her. She must be something else."

"One more thing, I found out that Maia is secretly meeting someone in Greece. Every summer vacation, she is always requesting to go to Greece. I think she's meeting with her father there."

Complete ang information na binigay ni Cole. It includes Maia's flight details every year to Greece and she's staying at the same town of Kalabaka.

"Anong meron sa Kalabaka? What made you think that she's meeting with her father?"

"The Meteora monastery complex is located a few kilometers from the town of Kalabaka. It is a UNESCO heritage site," sagot ni Cole at pinakita niya sa akin ang pictures ng mga monasteries sa taas ng mga cliffs na nasa isang brown folders.

"Baka naman gusto mag madre ni Maia?"

"Maybe, but there are rumors that one monastery houses an unusual prisoner. Someone evil and the monastery itself is keeping its wickedness at bay."

"Find out more about this particular prisoner. Wag mo din sasabihin kay Jared na pinaiimbestigahan ko ang laruan niya," sabay tulak ng folder sa dibdib ni Cole.

"Do you need anything else?"

"Any news about the recent deaths of the students in our school? Yung tatlong nagkaroon ng heart attack at the same time? Saka yung tatlong hindi na pumapasok? I have a bad feeling about those deaths."

"I will let you know kung may bagong balita. Ihahatid na kita school."

"Wag na, kaya ko ang sarili ko," sabi ko kay Cole sabay labas ng bahay pero mabilis na hinablot ni Cole ang braso ko papalapit sa kanya.

He is looking at me as if he wants me, as if he needs me, pero hanggang tingin lang si Cole. Para akong isang forbidden fruit sa kanya na bawal tikman.

"Julia, I am going to Greece. I already told Sir Rusty about this and he also asked me to investigate this further. Curious din siya kay Maia. Months bago ko makabalik. My colleague Amos will handle the investigation in your school," sabi ni Cole while touching my face.

"Eh ano naman sa akin kung sa isang taon ka pa bumalik? Di naman kita boyfriend di ba? Kulang na lang itulak mo ko papalayo sayo na para akong may isang nakakahawang saki..."

But Cole pulled me closer to him and owned my lips before I can continue. It was a kiss that is meant to silence me. Pwede din naman goodbye kiss dahil aalis na siya.

"Ihahatid kita okay? I know you can take care of yourself, pero ayokong umalis na galit ka sa akin," Cole said as he cupped my face.
