Chapter 15 - Cathedral Beach

(POV Jared)

Pag dating namin sa monastery, nagulat si Sister Agatha dahil bumalik si Maia na kasama ako. I just smiled at her and I introduced myself as her boyfriend.

"Boyfriend? Your mom will surely be ecstatic. She's really hoping you will introduce your boyfriend to her someday. However, this is not a good time as she just started to sleep a few days ago."

"That's fine sister. My boyfriend here just wants to see her."

Mabilis naman naniwala ang madre at pinapasok kami sa loob ng kwarto ni Melissa. Maia is right. Her mother is glowing.

"Do you know where your mom met your father?" tanong ko kay Maia habang pinagmamasdan si Melissa. She's sleeping soundly and she looks happy. I can't feel any demonic presence in her.

"Di ko alam but mommy once mentioned na she wants to go back to Spain where she met her first love. I'm assuming that is where she met my missing father. Sabi ng lolo, wala naman daw naging boyfriend ang mommy. And after ng vacation niya sa Spain, umuwi ang mommy na buntis na."

If my theory is correct, her mother is connected with a supernatural being that has a twisted time. My father slept for almost a year when the sorceress from Northern China tried to communicate with him. I think her mother is communicating with a similar being.

I was about to touch her hand but then I was flooded with visions. My parents are capable of absorbing visions whether it is the past or the future. Maddie and I inherited this unique talent.

In my vision, I saw a woman walking on a beach shore. The unique arches and caves of the place is a dead giveaway that this is in Spain, the As Cathedrais beach or The Beach of the Cathedrals.

The woman is clearly crying based from her smeared mascara. Her long brown hair and fair skin reminds me of the woman sleeping in front of me. There is no doubt that the woman in my vision is Melissa.

Nagsimula siyang lumakad papunta sa tubig. She is wearing a white dress and it is highly unlikely na ang pakay niya ay maligo sa beach. I think, she is about to drown herself.

When the turquoise waters is already around her neck, a man suddenly appeared and ran towards her direction. Melissa is already underwater, but this man pulled her away from her apparent death. The man hugged her and kissed her as if they know each other, as if they love each other.

"Are you okay? Natulala ka na dyan," tanong ni Maia sa akin nang mapatigil ako sandali.

"Do you want to meet your father?"

"No! Wala na ako pakialam sa kanya. Iniwan niya kami ng mommy ko. Ayoko na siya makilala pa ever..."

I put my index finger on her lips to stop her from saying another word. Siguro nga masama ang loob niya sa kanyang ama, but I can feel that she still wants to know who her real father is.

"Close your eyes, Maia. Do it," I said in a commanding tone. She just sighed and followed me na parang wala siyang choice.

I hold her hand and showed her the visions that I saw from her mother. She is quietly observing what is unfolding in the visions, but then she gasped when she saw the face of the man who saved her mother. There is no doubt na kilala niya ang lalaking nasa vision.

"Maia, what happened? You are shaking," I asked her as I cupped her face. She's trying to hold back the tears with all her might.

"Ok lang ako, Jared."

"Who is he? Sigurado ko kilala mo ang lalaking yun. Is he your father?"

"I think so. We have several painting portraits of that man. Sabi ni mommy, siya ang father ko."

"If you want to know more about your father, I can ask a few friends of mine to investigate about him. But it is your choice Maia. Sabihin mo lang sa akin."

"I don't care about him anymore. Ang focus ko ngayon ay si mommy. If you can help me heal her, I will be forever indebted to you."

"Will you give me your body if I found her a cure?"

"Kahit soul ko pa ang ibigay ko sayo, gagawin ko. Gusto ko lang mabuhay si mommy ng normal outside this monastery," nakangiting sabi niya sa akin.

"Maia, they may call me a demon king, but I am not a demon. I don't collect souls dahil tao lang ako. And your body is enough payment for me," I said as I pulled her waist towards me and imprisoned her in my arms. Her face turned red in no time.

"Wag mo nga ko landiin. Di ka na nahiya sa mommy ko na natutulog," bulong niya sabay tulak niya sa akin, but I hugged her more.

"Tandaan mo, boyfriend mo ko habang andito tayo. Mag advance payment ka kaya muna sa akin para ganahan ako hanapin ang cure sa mommy mo?" sabi ko as I attempted to kiss her ears.

"Jared Mason ano ba! Nakikiliti ako. Wag ka nga humarot sa akin! Ano ko chicks mo? Tsk!"

"Pwede din," natatawa kong sagot as I began to run my lips on her neck.

"No way! Kaya lang kita sinusunod dahil pinag babantaan mo ang buhay ko."

"Come on, isang taon na tayo magkasama. Do you still think that I will kill you?" I whispered in her ear which made her look away.

"Akala ko ba gigisingin mo mommy ko?"

"I changed my mind. Let her sleep. She's sleeping for a reason. I will talk to her once she wakes up."
