You watched intently as the humans walked into the house they'd just bought. It wasn't a very big house, and really it had nothing in it at all. Well, that was obvious because- nobody even lived here 'till now. You weren't sure how many humans were actually going to live here. It was only the two twins that came in this morning. They were strikingly similar to each other, almost like they were clones. They had the slightest of differences appearance-wise, but what let you manage to tell the two apart were their voice and personality.

The first one was passionate and lenient. He had a kind-loving personality, and his arctic blue eyes glistened in the sunlight, making your skin tingle. His voice had an Irish accent to it. His hair was a silky dark chocolate brown which flowed down in front of his forehead. His skin was much more pale than you'd usually see from a human, but his clothing consisted of skinny jeans and a loose white t-shirt. His smile from him was equivalent to one whole family reunion picture.

The second one was almost the exact opposite. He seemed to have a hatred for the other, and his voice was g̸li͝tçh҉y and scratchy. He wore gauges, and his neck was beyond bloody... which you weren't going to question why they didn't do anything about it. His hair was fluffed upwards having a shiny shade of dartmouth green. He wore a full black clothing set of one t-shirt and jeans torn to the knees. His whole body had a shade of green overlay it as well, which was very abnormal to your view. His smile looked like one you'd see from a million devils in one.

Both men looked very wealthy although, so you didn't see why they'd need a trash house like this. But, you thought, Christmas was right around the corner. Whatever could possibly keep you warm for the holiday season, you'd probably take it. So, you weren't going to question their decision to come here. Even though Borrowers like you aren't meant to be seen, you had to admit- it got lonely around here. You almost WANTED to be seen by your last humans, but you had lost your chance when they moved out to work on a "project" of theirs shortly after.

It wasn't long before you figured out the twin's names. The polite one's name was Jack, while the others was Anti. Not that very hard of a set of names to remember, luckily for you.

You left the two to have their alone time for awhile, so you could get your own work done for the day. New humans were very common, and not that much of a surprise to you. Something about Jack and Anti although, was different from the rest. They just didn't feel right to you. Because of this, you couldn't help but go back and eavesdrop into their conversation. But by the time you got back to their location, Jack was already leaving.

"What̵ if̧ t͏here's thos͜ę u͜gl͟y͠ l͡i͢ttĺe gr͝ey sq̸u͞ir̛r͠e̢l͡s͟ ru̴n͡ǹi͡ng a͟round͠ h̛ère?!̧"

"They're mice. Don't panic, the guys already sprayed the place down. They should be gone now."

So that's what you smelled the other day...

"A͠re͟ y̴ou͟ sur͏e̡.̧.̴.͡?"

"Anti, if there were any mice living here, they'd be long after dead already. Now get your stuff fixed up around here. I know you have 'visitors' coming around later."

Anti snarled.

"F̕in̶e."

And from there, Jack left. Slamming the door behind him stressfully. It made you jump for a moment, but you quickly regained yourself.

Anti froze shortly after you recovered. He almost seemed fazed into a void. You squinted your eyes questionably as you looked closer through the hole in the wall you made.
