"Are you sure this is a good idea? I heard these things are very surreal..."

"Yer gonna be fine! I'll be right behind ye jus' in case somethin' goes wrong."  

"How long is this game?"

"Not long. It's only a demo."

"Demo or full version, it's still scary."

"How do ya know that?"

"I've seen you play it..."

"When?"

"When you played it for that recording of yours. You were much louder than usual, and that's saying something."

"I told ya not te ever walk in while I'm recordin' somethin'! Especially a VR game!"

"I was in the wall. VR or desktop, I was going to be fine, unless you had plans to punch through your wall."

"Ya never know!"

"Ugh, bet me."

You slid on your miniature headset, placing your wireless headphones over its straps. You stumbled back as the dark environment formed and shaped around you. It made your heart leap, and you swore you heard Jack laugh through the loud audio which muffled out everything outside from the game. You hissed at him.

"Don't try to pull off any sly moves, asshole." You threatened playfully, unable to even hear your own voice speak.

You gripped the VR controllers sternly, walking forward through the digital environment. Everything around you was fit for the size of a human, something you were in no way used to. It made your chest flush, making you giddy. You picked a flower off the ground, padded with colors of red and blue like you'd never seen... It was gorgeous.

Looking up ahead from the flower, the environment around you began to fade into a grey color all around, causing you to stumble back. Once it reached where you stood, your flower was the only thing still in color, but it began to darken and go dry. Taking a closer look, you realized it was wilting, and you frantically ran around the area in search for water, but not a drop was to be seen anywhere.

Taking one last look at the flower, it had gone completely brown and dry, its leaves scrunched and scorched from petal-to-stem. Inevitably, the flower drifted upon the fate of everything else in the area and went grey.

You released the flower, allowing it to drift into the ground.

Well, this is a great introduction to Virtual Reality... You thought to yourself.

The environment dusted around you, shifting and forming into a completely new area, notably a grassland, continuing to heir its black and white color scheme. You bent down, waving your controller through the grass, which rustled by your movements. 

"That's cool!" You whispered to yourself, giggling.

Although, this grassland seemed to spread out as far as the eye could see. No trees, no animals, no structures, no life. There was nothing else but you, the grass, the soil, and the sky. It wasn't until then you began to realize how gut-wrenching this experience actually was.

Something then must've snapped behind you, literally. It sounded like a twig you had to guess. You turned around slowly, finding a black figure standing just a few meters away from where you were. Your skin went cold, and your mind deflated like something out of a cartoon.

The figure jumped at you with a screech, and you screamed, falling back onto the ground. The screen went dark, fading into the following, dimly glowing words:
