It was another evening, and you were sent up a new deal that rose up off at the edge of town. It was at the bar, the same one you'd been to a week ago. The suspicion was there, for sure, but a deal was a deal, and convenience was something that still surmised the town.
As you walked across the rooftop which gave you a clear view of the bar afront of you, the streets and visible alleyways were quickly skimmed away by your eyes for any patrol officers or perhaps stalking groups. When the close was clear, you made your move to the lone man which waited for you at the bar. The incident which happened here previously had many more eyes laid on the area ever since; it was more dangerous to make negotiations here more than ever.
You approached the man beside the bar, attentive to his body language in order to find any sort of threat out of him. There was nothing to be seen out of him; he was safe, from your point of view.
"I heard you had a target needing a find. Toss it," you spoke to him, keeping a safe distance in order to have time to react to any lashing out.
He pulled out the cigar from his mouth, puffing out a cloud of smoke tirelessly for the breeze to carry away. He glanced over to you, dragging the ash onto the brick.
"I'm sure this place looks familiar to you, does it not?" He spoke up, dropping the bud to the ground.
You took a deep breath, nodding your head. Now it was signaling that something wasn't right, but you kept up your confidence.
"Of course," you paused already having an idea of what was going on.
"Do you need a person for me to scout out or have you found what you've come for?" Your mouth twitched, gently tracing your fingers across your side which encased a hidden pocket blade.
The man chuckled amusingly, hanging his head down as he stalked towards you with a careless pace.
"Correct," he snapped his fingers, lifting his head.
You just about grabbed your switchblade before a loud click made you freeze in place. You swallowed harshly, breathing in and out of your nose in stress.
Fuck... You cursed to yourself, blinking slowly as you raised your hands.
"Got you now, little shit," a man from behind you sneered, keeping his gun aimed towards your head as he walked into your sight.
"How long you been looking, tough guy?" Your eyes began to twitch unnaturally, blinking a few times in order to stop it.
"Long enough," he retorted, spit flying in your face purposely.
Your foot twitched back slightly. They weren't cops, for sure. Just a pair of stick-up-your-butt thugs who had a dusted grudge needing pleasure. You chattered your teeth together, fingers now beginning to twitch.
"What's the deal? Stacey a loyal hoe to one of you or something?" You snapped towards them, knowing that bullet wouldn't be coming out of that chamber unless you physically attacked them.
"Watch it," the other unarmed man stepped forward threateningly.
Bingo! You thought amusingly, forcing out a tiny giggle from you while the gunned man pushed the other back.
"We can't kill 'em, not now. We're gonna be rich with them on the market," the man whispered, setting back.
"Then let's beat the shit out of them, heal them up later," their bickering had your eyes rolling... until they went wide.
You'd seen some terrible sights in the past. Nasty, nasty things... but this- this had your bones crumble to dust.
It must've seen you finally notice its presence in shock, as a loud, disturbing chuckle set the two men straight and still as you. They were in denial at first, looking at you with dead stares.
