He had lived alone in his home for years, recording videos for the internet. He just couldn't take the feeling of isolation anymore. So he was going to buy himself a new friend to hopefully teach how to record videos with him.

Jack was known well around Brighton for his widespread popularity. Every block Jack walked across, there was at least one person who greeted him along his way. He didn't know how to drive, and wasn't able to because of the species he was: Neko.

Jack thought for awhile who would be his new buddy to hang out with. Jack wondered about getting a Harpy, but that was his overall diet. He'd eat them in a matter of days. That was also the same case with Borrowers. Then Jack thought about just completely scrapping the idea of finding a different species as a friend, and rather finding another Neko to be mates with. He'd already started gaining interest with a Neko by the name of Signe, but she wasn't capable of living with him because of recent family issues.

The last thing Jack could possibly think of were the mice. He had always hated the idea of the feral play of "Cat and Mouse" even though it was basically his species' main recognizable moto. Whenever Jack would even get the chance for a split second to see a mouse, he could see they had a such a unique personality not many other species had. Not to mention their overall intelligence span was beyond an ordinary human's. They had always managed to gain his interest the most.

Jack walked into the pet store both confidently and nervously. He knew many people were going to assume putrid things when he would buy himself a mouse of his own. The mouse itself will probably be filled with dread to the news of a Neko purchasing them.

As he'd expected, everyone in the store greeted Jack with a big smile on their faces. Specifically Jack's close friend who worked at the cashier, Ethan, the dog.

"Hiya Jack! What brings you here?" He greeted brightly.

"Nothin' much. Just looking for a mouse to buy."

Ethan's eyes widened in suprise.

"Really? Well right this way!" He urged Jack to follow him behind the counter.

Ethan and Jack went back into the storage area, where all different kinds of species and extra supplies were kept safe.

"Over here." Ethan called.

Jack walked over to a specific set of cages he'd never seen set out on the shelves before. Usually mice would be put in groups of five in plastic tiny cages, but these cages were made of some sort of strong metal. Every mouse had been all put in their own separate cages, which were larger plastic ones. The mice also were much bigger and healthier than the ones for sale outside.

"Employees aren't supposed to take customers back here you know." Ethan said.

He nodded back silently, watching intently at the sound asleep mice.

"What kind of mice are these?" Jack asked.

"I'm glad you asked!" Ethan said giddely.

"These mice as you see aren't like the ones for sale, and there's a good reason for that."

Jack eyed at him.

"Reason? What is this reason?"

"Experiments. They're experiments. They were transfered from all the way back in America." Ethan explained.

"Experiments like what?"

"They tested different vaccines and medicines to see the intelligence of mice and what could make it grow. They also did tests which buffed up their size, overall strength and flat out expansion to a mouse's regular capabilities."
