You sat down on the couch, reading a book about mythology. You had a weird, sudden taste for it today, and it was honestly better than what you had expected. It was a series of different mythological tales, each more interesting than the last. You were just about to flip to the next page when suddenly you heard your name called from the distance. You sighed, clamping the book shut after making sure you had your page marked where you left off before standing up and tossing the book off to the side.

Your name was called out a second time, louder than the last, making you pick up your pace. The yells led you to Marvin's room, where he and two kids stood.

Chase's kids.

"W-wh-Marvin, when did they get here?" You stuttered in suprise.

Not that you weren't happy that they were here, it was just that you weren't expecting to see them for... awhile.

"Not that long ago, actually!" Marvin chirped up, noticing just now that he had his magician gear on with a spell book set off to the side.

You bit your lip nervously. Marvin wasn't exactly the GREATEST at magic, but he could still do it either or. With the kids here to top that off, they could get hurt. Or at least it was a possibility.

They looked at you with bright smiles, forcing you to smile back to look appealing to them. Marvin smiled too.

"You wanted me for something?" You asked to break the silence.

"Oh- yeah, I wanted to show all of you what new magic I just learned to perform!" Marvin scrambled over to grab his spell book excitedly.

"What'd you learn?" You asked curiously, tilting your head to the side slightly, and Marvin giggled.

"You'll see~." He cooed, flipping open his spell book.

You glanced over at Chase's kids, who shrugged back. You guessed Marvin hadn't told them what it was either. Whatever this new spell was, he was incredibly giddy about it.

"Aha! Here it is!" Marvin tapped at the page in the spell book.

Marvin looked up and skimmed the room, and cursed underneath his breath.

"What's wrong?" The girl asked.

"I need an object. Like an apple or something."

"I'll go into the kitchen and grab something from the fridge." You quickly volunteered, walking out of the room.

"Thank you!" Marvin called out from the hallway.

"No problem!" You replied, treading towards the kitchen.

...

You reached the marble floor which was of the kitchen, and your eyes landed on the fridge almost instantaneously. You walked over to it, and just as your hand gripped on the handle, a hand placed itself on your shoulder, and you jumped, whipping yourself around.

"Sorry! Didn't mean to scare you! Hahaha."

You steadied your breath, gasping a chuckle.

"Ch-Chase! I didn't expect to see you here!" You laughed nervously.

"Weren't you supposed to go out to the office to meet with Henrik and Jackie already?"

Chase ran his hand through his hair.

"Yeah I know, but Jameson needed me for something in his room. I wasn't paying attention to the time. I let the office know I'm on my way right now and that I'll be a little late. Just wanted to check with you and how it was going with you and the kids." He smiled.
