“Did you say brother?” Krystal yelled in shocked disbelief.

“Seriously, Min Yoon Gi?” Momo joined in. Lonna sat on a step, looking like her best friend had just died, as she sighed for over the hundredth time since the dinner.

“My life sucks.” Lonna sounded like she was in a state of depression.

Krystal bent down to her friend’s level. “Lonna, what happened?” The memory of the night before played in her head as she recounted the story for her friends.

‘The three sat around Lonna’s dining table. “When Yoongi found out I was marrying his father, he was so happy.” Pamella said trying to break the awkward silence. “He is the one who suggested we all meet, he is such a kind boy.” Pamella said as she leaned on her fist and looked in Suga’s direction. He acted shy as he nodded and showed a cute gummy smile.

“Kind? Ha, that’s a lie.” Lonna said giving him a stern look. She had had enough as she quickly rose from her seat and slammed her fist on the surface of the table in her rage. “Mom, how can you be doing something so stupid?” Her mother looked at her daughter, not believing she was behaving this way. Lonna ignored her look as she pointed her finger in anger at the boy, and moved around to between her mother and him.

“Do you even know what kind of person this guy is? How bad he can be?” Suga tried to ignore the girl as he picked up his chopsticks and went to eat. “Stop!” Lonna yelled making Suga halt, his chopsticks almost touching the food in front of him. “Did we say you could eat? Do you really have so little manners?” Suga looked at the lecturing girl as the sound of sobbing brought them both to attention.

Lonna turned around to see her mother crying. She forgot about Suga for the time being as she wrapped an arm around her mother’s shoulders. “Mom, what’s wrong?” Lonna asked as Suga looked at the two with sadness in his own eyes.

“You can’t accept anyone else besides your father.” Her mother answered her question still crying. Lonna shook her head, sad that her mother thought she felt that way. “When you gave me permission to date, you just did it, so you wouldn’t disappoint me. You actually didn’t want me to.” She continued to cry as Lonna shook her head in disagreement.

“No, mom, that’s not it.” Lonna said as she held her sobbing mother.

“You think I am betraying your father. You didn’t think I would actually remarry.” Her mother continued.

“Mom, calm down, I said that isn’t what I think.” Lonna wished her mother would believe her. She wanted her mother to find love again, but she just wished it wasn’t with this evil boy’s father.

“Auntie, please don’t blame yourself, it’s my own fault…” Both women looked in the direction of Suga that held the look of utter sadness on his features. “that noona hates me.” Lonna looked at him in surprise.

“Oh Yoongi, I am so sorry. It’s my fault that you are hurting like this.” Pamella said. Suga looked down, his face with nothing but pain on his features.

“I thought that I finally could have a family again.” Lonna had a feeling this was all a set up, but she could do nothing but watch the sickly-sweet exchange between the two of them, she hated seeing her mother so sad.

“Yoongi, I thought we could be a family together, I really did.” Lonna’s mother said trying to comfort the sad boy. Lonna was shocked when her mother grabbed ahold of Suga’s hand. “I really wanted you to be my new son.” Lonna could feel her heart break at her mother’s words. She was finding it harder to deny her mother her happiness anymore.

Suga looked at Lonna’s mother as he wrapped her hand that was holding his hand with his other one. A slight look of joy was displayed on his face. “Auntie, you don’t know how happy that makes me to hear, I am truly touched. I could want nothing more than the honor of being your son.”

Suga’s words worked their magic in Pamella’s heart. She bowed her head to Suga in apology. “Yoongi, I am so sorry, but if Lonna doesn’t agree, I have to disappoint you and your father, I am so sorry!” She said through sobs.

Lonna looked helplessly between the two feeling truly at war with her feelings. The joy that was there a moment ago flew from Suga’s face as he once again looked like he had lost the best thing to him. Pamella laid her head in equal sadness on the table in front of her.

With her mother not looking Lonna looked over to Suga, whose expression changed as he met her gaze. He gave her an evil smile and winked in her direction. Lonna knew she had been beat as she gave him a look of rage.’

Krystal moved to sit by her friend as she finished the story and tried to comfort her by patting her on the back. “Sorry. That is so evil, guilting you into agreeing.”

“But is it really a coincidence?” Momo asked. Krystal looked at her deep in thought, as Lonna’s head slowly moved up with an idea popping in her head.

“I think that devil knows evil spells. He is trying to send me to hell.” Her head dropped again in saddened grief.

“Lonna, don’t give up.” Krystal said still trying to comfort her friend.

“Right, you have an angel on your side too.” Momo tried comforting Lonna as well.

Krystal nodded her head in agreement. Speaking of the angel Momo alerted the other two to the fact he was now coming their way. Lonna’s worries were instantly forgotten as she stood to meet him.

He moved past her with only looking in her direction before heading down the hall. Lonna chased after him stopping at the hallway entrance to watch him walk down it. ‘Jin looks so hot today.’ She thought as she smiled for the first time today.

“Turn and look at me.” She whispered to his back that was halfway down the hall by now. As if he heard her, Jin stopped walking and turned giving Lonna one of his handsome smiles. Lonna smiled back at him. ‘At least I still have you in my crappy life.’  Lonna thought as Jin started walking again.

Lonna skipped in her walk home, so lost in her happy thoughts that she didn’t hear the motorcycle that approached her.

Suga circled around in front of the distracted girl, making her stop in surprise. Lonna rolled her eyes the minute she recognized who it was driving the bike. “Noona.” Suga said in a mocking greeting.

“What?” Lonna shouted at him. Suga sat up straight on his bike, his pale hair blew across his face in the wind as he considered the angry girl in front of him.

“Would being my sister be so bad?” He asked. Lonna couldn’t look at him anymore as she fought her feelings again. “You don’t have to be you know, just tell your mom you don’t want her to marry my dad, that way we’d have no connection to each other.” Lonna knew Suga was playing some game again, and she refused to fall for it this time.

“I won’t do it.” Lonna said finally resigning to what she had to do.

“Why not?” Suga asked suddenly intrigued with the girl losing her will to fight.

“Even though I hate you, I won’t say they can’t marry.” Lonna said showing her frustration. Suga chuckled at her.

“There are always more creative ways to break you.” Suga said.

“I don’t care what you do.” Lonna shot back.

Suga couldn’t look at the girl, she was making him angry. He chuckled trying to hide it. “Why act so brave?” He said before looking at Lonna once more. “Remember, people like me have no sympathy for the feelings of others.”

“I said I don’t care, as long as my mother is happy…” Suga’s eyes tightened in annoyance. “anything is worth it. Even putting up with you, Min Yoon Gi.” Lonna said before looking the boy in the eye. She held her head high as she walked away.

Suga clenched his fist and looked after the girl trying to control his rage.
