Jhope stood front and center in the gallery. The other three boys and Suga gave him amused looks. "The Christmas tree competition has been resurrected! Guest, please give applause!" The three other boys humored his enthusiasm by clapping as he said.
Suga stood crossed armed in front of his display table. The project he was entering was covered with a white sheet. His gummy smile spread across his lips as he lifted it off to reveal Lonna's design. The four boys rushed over to it, crouching down around it. "Though it lacks creativity, looking at it Lonna's version..." Taehyung began.
"Is full of emotion." Jhope finished his sentence.
"Because Suga is so good." RM added.
"Look, simple to the point of boring..." Taehyung looked at the tree from every angle. "But it attracts all your attention." Suga didn't stop smiling through all their praises.
"That feeling..." RM questioned. "What is it?"
"Happiness." The four boys mouths dropped wide open as Suga answered. I just think a Christmas tree should represent happiness. Suga smirked at the memory of Lonna's words. "Maybe only the innocent can truly understand what happiness is." He wiped the emotion from his face as he looked down at the other boys. "Okay. I'm beat. I'm leaving. Bye."
Suga quickly started to leave the room. "Suga!" RM's voice made Suga stop in his in his tracks.
"What?" The exasperation was heavy in Suga's voice.
"Cheer up!" Suga smirked quickly before going home losing himself in his thoughts.
Lonna's POV
Lonna walked to Suga's house, because her mother told her that his father would again be gone. She decided it would be best if Lonna cooked him dinner since she was still at work. The talk she had with Jisoo weighted heavy on her mind. Either he reveals his true feelings, or acts like a spoiled brat. I want Suga to stay that way. I don't want him to close himself off.
It wasn't long after she made it to his house that Suga showed up himself. Lonna instantly moved into the kitchen as Suga put his things away. She busied herself in making dinner.
Suga walked back down the stairs and leaned against the kitchen counter as Lonna was just finishing up. "Hurry up I'm starving." He said as he stuck another chip in his mouth.
"Okay. Soon." Lonna took the food off the stove and moved it over to the counter to plate it. Jisoo's question popped in her head as she looked at Suga for the first time that night. How well do you know Suga? She hated to admit, she really knew nothing. The realization made her sad.
Forgetting the food for now, Lonna moved closer to Suga. "Suga...don't push yourself too hard, ok?" Suga continued to stuff chips in his mouth. "You not wanting to tell me about Jungkook, is it because we are about to become family, or is there another reason?"
Suga stopped eating his chips and glanced over at Lonna slightly. "Can you mind your own business?"
"Suga." Lonna begged. She just didn't know why he wouldn't open up to her.
"And..." Suga spoke to stop her from talking anymore. "Please don't ask about other people behind their backs. Don't you think it's juvenile?"
Lonna was trying hard to hold back her tears. "It's because I worry about you. I don't know about your past. And I don't know what you're thinking. I only know...your closing yourself off." Lonna sighed. "To just pretend I don't see it. I can't do that." Lonna thought about what Jisoo said. Suga was turned from Lonna, so she couldn't see the rage he was trying to hide. "You and Jungkook, what really happened between you? Tell me Suga!" Lonna coaxed.
In a fit of rage, Suga turned to Lonna and threw the chips in her direction. "None of your business!" The level of Suga's scream made Lonna jump. He quickly left the room and ran upstairs. Lonna knew she had gone to far, but she couldn't help it.
Jungkook's POV
Jungkook sat on his couch as the looked sadly down at the photo he held. The picture was old and yellowing. The two young boys sat on either side of their young mother. The guest walking in didn't even bother Jungkook as he admired it.
"Jungkook, time to study." Professor Cho said to him. Jungkook hid the picture for now under one of the couch cushions, before following Mr. Cho into a different room.
Suga's POV
Roughly opened his bedroom door, before slamming it hard behind him. He sat down on the edge of his bed, as guilt started to flood him. He slowly moved over to his bedside table and opened the top drawer. He reached inside and picked up the old picture.
The look of sadness was evident in his eyes as he looked at the two smiling boys as they stood on either side of their mother.
Lonna's POV
Even the slamming of his door confuses me. I can only stand stupidly outside, think what if... Lonna wrapped the food up and placed it on the table. She took the time to write a note and place it beside the food, in hopes Suga would read it. What if...that door never opens. She thought as she walked out of the house.
Suga's POV
After calming down, Suga finally came back down stairs. He looked across the room and was surprised not to see Lonna there. He looked over at the dining table and spotted the paper first. Curiosity got the better of him as he moved to pick it up. "I've left eat the food while it's hot, Lonna"
The note was simple and he knew he had treated her wrong, despite all that, the note still made him smile.
Lonna's POV
Pamela cleaned off the last remaining tables of the closed restaurant. Seeing some one walk in she quickly bowed in apology. "Sorry we're closed." She became confused as she lifted up and noticed who it was. "Lonna?" Lonna moved to take the the pile of dirty plates from her. "Thank you."
"Such a good child." The manager said as she watched them. Pamela smiled widely as the manager put plates of food down on a clean table and offered it to them.
Pamela gratefully accepted her offer as her and Lonna sat down to eat. Lonna smiled at her mother as she handed her some chopsticks. "Eat up. While it's hot."
"This too." The manager said as she placed another plate of food in front of them.
"Boss. It's ok, we have enough food." Pamela said.
The manager smiled at Pamela's humble intentions. "It's a rare occasion. I'll add a few more plates and then we'll eat."
"You're too kind." Pamela bowed in respect to her manager.
Lonna couldn't keep quiet about why she had came in the first place. "Mom, do you know about Jungkook?" Her mother was a bit taken back.
