After running away as fast as she could, leaving the devishly smiling boy hopefully far behind, Lonna and her friends were now sitting in the university café. She recalled how the boy's face didn't change, even after she had told him that he was not the person she had meant to say that to. The thought of that smile he wore gave her shivers. "Normally, people don't confess to the wrong person." Krystal said bringing her friend out of her thoughts and back to the embarrassing reality.
"I can't help it, I was nervous." Lonna was wringing her fingers together. Krystal smiled at her cute friend. "I couldn't even really see who it was, so I just ran away."
"You're such an idiot." Krystal said, teasingly sticking her tongue out at her friend. Krystal loved Lonna, but sometimes she couldn't stand how ditzy she acted.
"That guy, his name is Min Yoon Gi and he is a Freshman Practical Arts Major." Momo chimed in after finishing her latest bite of the huge slice of chocolate cake she had in front of her.
"I don't care who he is Momo, He looked arrogant." Lonna said back to her friend.
"I think it would help if you did Lonna." Krystal said. "Rumor has it, that he is the only son of the university president, his dad supports any idea he has, even if it is bad, he leads a gang of boys, that think his freakish behavior is normal." Lonna turned in her seat interested as ever in her friend's story. "The group always skips class, and they act like punks. Apparently, they are always causing trouble. I heard they have even been arrested. They are more like gangsters than students." Lonna and Momo leaned closer as their story telling friend lowered her voice to a whisper for the next part. "Despite being what he is, girls still chase him wildly, they even have a nickname for him."
Krystal went quiet for a minute to pull in the attention of her friends. "What do they call him?" Lonna and Momo said in sync with each other. Krystal grinned being extremely proud of herself for their reactions. She leaned down in between them as close as she could get. "They call him Prince of Seduction." Lonna's mouth dropped open in disgust, wondering how that cocky guy could ever get a nickname like that. Momo shook her head in agreement, like she knew exactly that fact, even though minutes ago she seemed not to.
Lonna dropped her head against the surface of the table in front of her and sighed in defeat. "The universe hates me, to make me screw up in front of a guy like that." She stared at her feet wishing the ground would open and swallow her whole.
Krystal and Momo felt nothing but pity for their sad friend. "Don't worry at least Jin doesn't hate you." Krystal said patting Lonna lightly on the arm, trying to cheer her up. Lonna didn't answer, all she did was sigh more. Krystal looked to Momo to help her.
"Yea, you will always find another chance to tell him you like him." Krystal and Momo both nodded their heads proud of each other's encouragement. After a minute Lonna shook her head and hummed in agreement still looking at the floor, that was until she gasped in shock, and quickly lifted her head off the table to look at her friends.
"What?" Krystal asked being confused by her sudden action.
"Where is the letter?" Lonna asked looking right at Krystal. She silently hoped her friend had it, because she didn't.
"How am I supposed to know?" Krystal asked back, leaning back in her chair and crossing her arms in front of her chest. The look of shock only got worse as the realization of the situation hit her. She lifted her head back and couldn't help but scream.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE I LOST IT!!!" Lonna freaked out. Her friends could do nothing but cover their ears at the sudden loudness. "What am I going to do if I can't find it?" Lonna asked her friends hoping they had some magical answer for her. "If someone finds it, then I am screwed because it had our names on it."
Momo mirrored Lonna's shock but Krystal could do nothing but shake her head. "Dummy!" Krystal said. Lonna grabbed her school bag and ran out the exit door of the café hoping she could find the letter where she last was, she had to get there in time.
Author's POV
The boy pushed himself against the wall of the entrance to the café and watched the panicked girl run past him. He used his tongue to wet his lips as he watched her figure move further away from him. He chuckled to himself as he left to go retrieve his motorcycle.
Lonna's POV
Lonna ran as fast as she could back to the entrance of the university, where she was earlier this morning. Classes had finished early for most students today, including her, so they were getting ready to leave. She fixed the umbrella that was over her head to shield the rain that had started earlier. As she made it to the steps her heart beat wildly in her chest as she looked the area over, but to her dismay the letter wasn't there.
She didn't let all hope be lost, as the thought that it might have been kicked or dragged by the wind into the courtyard. She ran as quickly as she could to search the semi tall grass. Her hope was slowly starting to fade when the letter didn't instantly show itself. "Hey, are you looking for something?" A male voice asked from behind her.
"Yes." She answered still distracted by searching for the letter.
"What is it? Maybe, I can help you find it." The male spoke again.
"I am looking for..." Lonna finally looked up at the man that spoke, and her heart caught in her throat. Directly in front of her stood none other than Kim Seok Jin, his face held nothing but confusion and concern. Lonna couldn't help feeling shocked and embarrassed upon realizing it was him. "Four-leaf clover." Lonna said trying to cover up her stupidity of almost telling Jin about the letter.
"You're looking for a four-leaf clover?" Jin said looking overly confused as why a girl would be looking for a four-leaf clover in a rain like this.
'Why did I say that? How more of an idiot can I be?' Lonna thought as she slowly shook her head embarrassed by her previous excuse but owning it since it was too late to take it back.
Jin just smiled back at her answer. "Hi, I am Jin, we are in the same economics class." He said trying to introduce himself.
Lonna feigned ignorance as she shook her head "Yes, economics class." Jin smiled at her and slowly bent down into the grass below. Lonna rolled her eyes silently cursing her brain for not coming up with something smarter to say. She bent down as well to help him search for the not needed four-leaf clover.
As they both searched, Jin looked over to the girl beside him. Lonna thought she could feel someone staring at her. She slowly moved her eyes to the boy beside her and found him looking at her intensely. The intensity of his stare made her so nervous she had to look away. When she looked back she could see Jin moving slowly towards her, his eyes never leaving her once. She watched him as he moved, her heart felt like it was about to burst with each slow movement he took towards her.
Lonna couldn't look back at him anymore as he got right beside her. Her breath became erratic and she was shaking. Jin took one more look at the girl before carefully moving his fingers towards her shoulder. Lonna was confused when instead of touching her, he flicked the air. "Don't worry, it was just a bug." Jin said giving Lonna a sickly-sweet smile. Cue Lonna feeling like an idiot once again. Jin looked around "It's getting dark, you should get home." He said as Lonna looked back at him.
Author's POV
The boy sat sideways on his red and black motorcycle as he considered the couple not far from him. He watched the boy intently as he got up and started to leave the girl behind. "Kim Seok Jin!" The girl yelled out after the retreating boy. The boy quickly pivoted to face her once more. "My name is..." The girl started to say.
"Lonna." The boy interrupted giving her a bright smile.
"Bye." The girl named Lonna said giving the boy an excited smile back.
"Bye, bye." The boy answered back before leaving for real this time. The boy who leaned against his bike gripped his helmet tightly in one hand as he watched the girl stand in the yard bouncing up and down clearly ecstatic. His almond shaped brown eyes twitched in annoyance at the scene he just witnessed.
