Concert

Suga looked over the crowd that were getting into the music being played until he spotted the couple that looked happily at each other in the front row. As hard as he tried not to, he couldn’t help getting angry watching them.

The band played harder as they ever had before as the audience reacted to the hype they were throwing out. The cheers were the loudest they had ever heard.

As the song came to an end, the cheers died instantly as the member that had showed he was in pain earlier, slumped forward falling to the ground.

Suga rushed to his side. “Are you ok?” Suga looked down into his face and saw it was coated in nothing but sweat. The member’s face twisted in pain as he tried to lift to look Suga in the eye.

“Can’t let my band down…” He struggled to talk as his breathing was heavy. “It’s up to you to make the show go on.” Suga knew he was right as he nodded in agreement.

Suga sat backstage listening to the crowd scream the band’s name, calling them to finish the concert. He hadn’t played in years and he wasn’t sure he was ready to now. He didn’t really think he had much of a choice. He rubbed the scarf on his hand before making his decision.

Lonna’s POV

The crowd cheered around her and Jin as a ballad started playing. Jin alerted her to the pianist coming back on stage. He was now wearing a mask across his face that he wasn’t before.

Once he got into the light her gaze fell to the scarf that was covering his hand. She watched as the band nodded in respect to Suga as he started playing the piano.

The music was slow and lovely, which made the crowd sway their arms back and forth above their heads, all but Lonna and Jin.

Jin watched Suga’s bad hand as he moved back and forth on the keys, blood was dripping down to land on the stage below. ‘How can it be him?’Lonna thought as she watched Suga lose himself to the music playing around him. As much as she wanted to think it wasn’t him, the fact he was using the same scarf Suga had stolen from her as a bandage made that hard.

Lonna couldn’t stop feeling it. That confusing feeling she had felt when Suga had kissed her. She couldn’t take her eyes away from him as she watched him enjoy something other than hurt people.

She felt something, no matter how hard she tried to keep herself from it. It felt like he was playing just for her. It was like everyone else around her had disappeared besides them alone. She didn’t know why she was feeling anything more than anger and hate but it was confusing.

After the concert, Jin and Lonna walked quietly side by side in the half empty train station.

Author’s POV

Suga sat backstage once again as he wrapped his sore hand around the scarf that covered it, despite his hand hurting, he couldn’t stop smiling from the joy in his heart. It made him overjoyed to recall the way Lonna had watched him while he played.

Lonna’s POV

Lonna couldn’t take the awkward silence anymore as she turned to speak to Jin. “Thanks for inviting me today.” She said giving him a bright smile. “It was fun.”

“I wanted to tell you something earlier, but Suga beat me to it.” Jin said with a grim expression. Lonna watched as a blush made it way across his cheeks. “You look very cute today.”

Lonna couldn’t deny him a big smile in thanks to his compliment. “Thank you” Jin’s face fell as he looked to the ground.

“One more thing…you misunderstood Suga.” Lonna’s face laid her confusion out in the open for Jin to see. “He wasn’t bullying that kid. The kid was doing something very horrible. I watched him do it too.”

Lonna couldn’t believe what she was hearing, but upon remembering what she had said to Suga, she could once again feel bad for judging him badly. She had been so horrible to him, but she had thought he deserved it, now she was disgusted at herself to find out she was wrong.

“Actually…” Jin continued, seeing the girl fighting with herself in front of him made him regret saying anything. “I didn’t really want to tell you.”

Lonna smiled at his honesty, but the thoughts of how bad she now hated herself still moved in her mind. “I think you are very kind to have done so. Thank you.” 

Lonna could feel Jin felt bad for making her sad, but she was trying to encourage him not to feel that way. “I have to go.” She said a quick goodbye to him and walked away looking sadder than she ever had.

‘Honestly…was that the right thing to do?” Jin questioned himself as she walked away from him. ‘How can doing the right thing sometimes feel like the worse thing to do?’ The couple were lost in separate thoughts as they made their way home.

Suga’s POV

Suga was now sitting on the stage steps watching the band pack up. “Is your hand ruined?” The leader asked him as he stopped loading equipment to sit down next to him.

“Is the member ok?” Suga tried changing the subject.

“He’s an idiot. Even with acute appendicitis, he still tried to play.” Suga couldn’t help but admire his determination. “They called from the hospital saying he was going into surgery.”

“That’s good.” Suga said.

“What about you?” The leader changed the subject back to Suga. “Why were you going all out on stage tonight?” He slapped Suga hard on the back.

Suga couldn’t hold back the smile as the memory of tonight came back to him. He laughed to himself, as he rose from the stage steps and started walking away before answering the leaders question.

“I went all out tonight…for the heart of a listener.” He smiled again, as Lonna’s face, as she watched him on stage flashed in his mind.  

Lonna’s POV

“I’m home!” Lonna screamed as she walked through her front door. She was confused to not hear her mother answer her back, but as she looked over the house the thought clicked in her head. “Out on another date.”

She sadly walked back to her bedroom as she got ready to take a bath. She filled the tub with extremely hot water hoping it would help soothe her mixed feelings.
