The gym was full of people as Lonna and her friends stood on the balcony and watched the team below. The players looked so sweaty and nervous except Jin. He walked out to meet Yoongi and the four other boys as they entered with a smile on his face. The group of five boys looked like they were walking into a fight the way they carried themselves. Suga looked at Jin with a pissed off glare as the boy returned to him one of his handsome smiles. Lonna looked nervously from boy to boy.
The basketball players and Suga’s group continued to stare at each other. “Are they here to play or fight?” Krystal asked noticing the tension in the air.
After what felt like forever Jin and Suga moved forward to the middle of the court and crouched to ready themselves to get the ball once the referee threw it up. The whistle blew and they both jumped to retrieve the ball for their side.
Jin got to the ball first no matter how hard Suga had tried to get it. He moved quickly down the court to the basket letting the ball go at the three-point line, it hit the basket and bounced off. Lonna hit the railing in front of her in anger.
RM got to the ball first as it fell back into play. He moved it to half court where he passed it to Suga, who took the shot from there, it went in perfectly. Jin grabbed the ball again and ran as fast as he could down the court before passing to another player that was wide open. The boy went for a layup, but RM made it in time to knock it out of his hands.
The next shot was made by Suga again at the two-point line. Jin then got the ball from one of his teammates before passing it off to another player. RM stole the ball throwing it to Taehyung who took his shot from the three-point line, scoring his team three more points. Jimin then grabbed the ball from under the basket and dribbled it out to reset before moving back to the same line Taehyung had just shot from to make another basket.
Jin’s team tried their best to score a basket but it only bounced off the basket into the hands of Jhope, who threw it all the way down to the other end of the court to Taehyung again, who scored with a slam dunk.
Lonna squealed as Jin got the ball and fought against Suga to make it to the basket to make a shot, this time making it. This made the crowd cheer loudly. It didn’t take long for Suga to recover the ball and make a shot of his own.
“Jin’s team is being killed. Min Yoon Gi’s guys are scary.” Momo said. Lonna hated to admit it but Suga’s team were playing to win and that meant by any means possible.
“I am afraid if this keeps up, Jin will get hurt.” Lonna said feeling her fear grow.
“Yea, Jin doesn’t look like he can take much more.” Krystal confirmed Lonna’s fears. Thankfully like a bit of help from above the whistle blew signaling the players to stop for a break. The two teams separated to their sides of the court to rest. Jin and Suga stood facing each other.
“Didn’t we say this was a friendly game?” Jin questioned Suga fighting to breathe. “Why so serious?”
Suga smirked at the basketball player. “I have one goal…to win.” Jin smirked back at him as he whispered the words ‘me too’ before they both moved to walk in the opposite direction, roughly bumping shoulders.
After a short break the game started again. Jin’s team missed another basket, giving Taehyung a chance to steal the ball. Jin stole the ball back and ran back to his own basket as Suga approached him, he moved past him and made the shot from the side of the basket. Suga then grabbed the ball and made a basket from the same spot on his end of the court.
The game continued with baskets being made back and forth between the two boys.
Krystal pulled her arm up and looked at her watch. “Only ten seconds left.” She shouted to Lonna and Momo.
Suga’s team was still ahead but Jin was at the three-point line being closely guarded by Suga who was proving difficult for him to trick. Knowing the clock was counting down he forgot about faking and used his height difference to jump higher than Suga and take the shot, the whistle blew just as the ball left his hands.
Lonna watched with an overjoyed expression as the ball flew through the air. Suga turned to look where the ball went. The ball sailed through the air straight to the basket.
Only to bounce back as it hit the rim. Lonna’s joy faded. Suga gave a defeated looking Jin a look before moving to celebrate with the other four boys who were shouting and high fiving each other.
The audience moved to leave the gym but Lonna and her two friends stayed stunned to their spots. Jin looked at Suga who was now standing beside him again, the sweat dripped down his pale hair and onto his porcelain looking skin below. “I lost.” He told the younger boy in front of him.
Suga smiled completely satisfied with how his plan to beat Jin had turned out before moving to leave the gym.
“Actually, you’re very good.” Jin yelled to him.
Suga stopped in his tracks. “How about you join the team? I promise to make you the lead player.” Suga sucked on the inside of his cheek before smiling. Apparently, his plan had worked better than he thought.
“Sure.” Suga yelled at Jin as he turned to face him. Suddenly his finger lifted and pointed at someone that was above them.
“As long as she’s the team manager.”
Jin was a mixture of shock and confusion as he looked to the balcony that Suga was pointing at. Standing with a look of disbelief was Lonna.
Krystal and Momo looked at their dumbfounded friend who was standing there pointing at herself like a deer in the headlights. Finally, she spoke. “M-mm-m-me?” Jin looked back at Suga with a huge smile on his face.
“Actually, we just so happen to need a new manager.” Jin said happy with Suga’s demand.
It would help his team to get not only a new player that was as good as Suga and a new manager all in one go. So, he wasn’t going to argue “Our last one quit out of the blue and we haven’t had the chance to find a new one.” Jin looked back up at Lonna who was still stuck pointing at herself with her mouth now open like an idiot.
“Lonna, if you would like to try, then that would be great. It’s a tough job though, so I won’t force you.” Jin said.
Lonna was elated for Jin to ask her to be the manager in such a sweet way. “No problem, I would love to.” She said giving Jin two thumbs up.
“Good, it’s done then.” Suga said looking up at the girl who looked way too happy.
As if she had just remembered this one of Suga’s evil ideas, Lonna’s smile quickly faded. Suga gave her a gummy smile that made his eyes crinkle in evil humor as he saw the realization hit the girl.
Suga’s POV
Suga’s group sat in the artist café trying to chill themselves with some drinks and food after leaving the gym. Jhope couldn’t help asking the question that was eating at him. “Are we really joining the basketball team?”
“Have I ever reneged on anything?” Suga asked while he leaned back in his chair with his feet up on one of tables.
“Why do you even want to join?” RM questioned him back. Suga didn’t like all these questions,
“Don’t you like basketball?” Suga asked him a straightforward question.
“Yea, I like it.” RM said being forced to answer.
“Then why are you giving me crap? You don’t have to join if you don’t want to.” Suga didn’t care if he sounded rude, he was tired, and the four idiots were asking way too many questions, except Jimin who hardly ever talked. The four boys didn’t dare say another word, scared of the look of thought on Suga’s face.
A/N: Hope you liked it. Wonder what Suga has planned now...
