“Why are you going back to Busan?” Lonna asked her mother as Pamela handed Suga a napkin.

“Before the wedding, your grandma and I need to formally ask Pamela’s family for her hand in marriage.” Mr. Min explained.

“The practice itself isn’t that important. I thought we could use this opportunity for the two sides of the family to meet. It’ll be great. Since it’s a long weekend, we’ll all go.” Pamela added.

“Me…me too?” Lonna stuttered.

“Grandma misses you.” Pamela said.

“I’m not going.” Suga said before Lonna had the chance to argue.

“How could you?” His father asked. “You have to go.”

“You’re the ones getting married. Don’t involve me.” Suga said staring at his father.

Mr. Min clicked his tongue against his teeth in annoyance. “What are you talking about? They’re going to be our relatives.”

Seeing Suga’s depressed expression, Pamela instantly felt bad. “It’s okay. The trip is long and tiring. If Yoongi doesn’t want to go. Don’t force him.”

“But, it’s rude.” Mr. Min said. “Since in the future, Yoongi will be your son, and Lonna’s brother, he should go visit your relatives.”

Lonna could feel her heart squeeze with sadness as Mr. Min spoke. Suga took a deep breath to try and wipe away his own feelings. “Auntie, it’s not about you. I’m really not interested.”

Mr. Min’s mouth dropped open in disbelief. “Yoongi…”

“It’s okay.” Pamela interrupted him before he could start arguing with his son. She started playfully pulling on his arm. “He doesn’t have to go.” She put her hands on his cheeks and pinched the ends of his lips, lifting them upward. “Smile.” She then gave him an air kiss.

“I can’t go either.” Lonna said softly. Suga turned his attention to her. “I already have plans with Krystal.” Not wanting to be bias, Pamela granted her request and gave Mr. Min a small pat on the arm to encourage him not to be sad. Lonna looked at Suga from the corner of her eyes, just as he went back to eating his breakfast.

After Breakfast

Pamela smoothed out the wrinkles of Mr. Min’s suit jacket after she helped him put it on. After straightening out the front, Mr. Min turned and gave Pamela a sad smile. “Pamela, sorry. That kid Yoongi has never known how to deal with adults.”

Pamela giggled as she reached up to fix the jacket’s collar. “It’s okay. Lonna can’t go, either. I was afraid you would be disappointed.”

“Regarding us remarrying, maybe the kids are not as accepting.” Mr. Min said.

Pamela frowned a bit before forcing herself to smile. “No…our happiness, our kids would never go against it.”

Mr. Min looked her in the eyes and grabbed ahold of her hands before hesitantly nodding in agreement.

Lonna’s POV

Suga held the umbrella so that the rain that fell around him and Lonna wouldn’t soak them as they walked together to school. “For the long weekend where are you going?” He asked.

“Huh?” Lonna asked confused.

“Didn’t you say you had plans with Krystal?”

“No plans.” Lonna confessed.

“Oh…” Suga said as he smirked. “You lied to auntie. You’re getting naughty.” He teased.

Lonna bumped her shoulder against his and laughed. “Actually I have somewhere I want to go alone.”
