Lonna picked the basketballs up out of the floor and put them in the basket. The sound of heels clicking against the floor went unnoticed. “Why are you still doing servants’ work?” Her shocked expression made the girl laugh.

“Jisoo?!”

“I can’t be here?” Jisoo asked as she crossed her arms in front of her chest and leaned against the goal.

“No…” Lonna said as she continued to stare.

“Worried about something?” Jisoo smiled wickedly. Lonna quickly averted her gaze. ‘Am I so transparent?’ She thought. “You look like you had something on your mind.” Jisoo said as she walked closer to Lonna. “What? Did Suga dump you?”

“Of…of course not.” Lonna’s voice gave away that she was worried.

“How unfortunate. I was so hoping that day would come.”

“So mean.” Lonna said as she rolled her eyes in annoyance. Jisoo walked back into Lonna’s view, before sitting down on the floor beside her.

“Let me help you, Noona.” She smiled wide. Their exchange didn’t go unnoticed. Suga walked in looking at the girls with confusion on his face.

“When did you girls become best friends?” He asked suspicious of them. ‘Are we?’ Lonna thought as her and Jisoo looked at each other as if they were caught stealing.

“Lonna is my best friend in the whole world.” Jisoo exclaimed. Suga smirked at her act. “Isn’t that true, noona?”

‘It’s not true. Someone help me.’Lonna’s thoughts didn’t match the fake sweet smile she forced herself to have. Thankfully, they were interrupted by RM running into the gym.

“Suga, let’s practice.” He said as he slapped Suga hard in the shoulder. Suga smiled and nodded in agreement.

“Can you try not to cling to Suga? It’s pitiful, RM.” Jisoo gave him a scolding look.

“What do you mean clinging on to Suga? What’s pitiful?” RM pretended ignorance. Suga laughed, being happy of the familiar atmosphere around them.

“So pitiful.” Jisoo claimed again. Lonna was the only one that wasn’t as happy about all this as the others.‘Well, we’re back where we started. No improvement what so ever.’ She watched as Jisoo made fun of RM’s hair and Suga laughed at the two.

Later…

Lonna adjusted the large number of store bags in her hand, as she struggled to walk on her sore feet. “You’ve shopped for so long and so much. Aren’t you tired?” She questioned Krystal.

Krystal’s eyes moved back and forth between the stores. “I’m only missing a pair of shoes to match my outfit. Tomorrow is my fight to the death.”

“Fight to the death?” Lonna was confused.

“Jin and I…Haven’t had a successful date since we started. It’s getting out of hand. One bad date becomes last date. I won’t let that happen.” The look of determination on her face intrigued Lonna.

“Why?”

“The one date we set up, it wasn’t successful. A total bomb.” Krystal said sadly.

“The cake was ruined too.” Lonna laughed slightly.

“So tomorrow, I have to look good and be perfect.”

“Yeah…let Jin see the perfect you and be stunned.” Lonna agreed. “And he won’t look at another girl again, right?”

“Right!” Both girls screamed enthusactically.

“I think you have gone all out today.” Lonna continued to talk.

“Yeah. Shopping, who cares.” They started walking again. “It’s already a bloodbath.” Krystal joked.

“So, your part-time salary, it’s all gone?”

“It can’t be. I’m still missing a pair of shoes to go with my outfit, I have to get them.” Krystal frowned at the thought. Just then she spotted a pair of brown high heels in the display window. Her eyes went wide in adoration. Krystal walked quickly to the window and crouched down in front of it. “It’s them. My fight to the death shoes.” Lonna looked at her friend like she had grown a new head.

In the store Krystal struggled to put the heel on her foot. “They are too small.” Lonna said, making Krystal look at her in frustration.

“Miss, is there a bigger size?” Krystal refused to give up.

“That’s the last pair.” The sales ladies’ words made the smile on Krystal’s face fade quickly.

Finally, they were once again walking through the mall. Krystal had refused to let the shoes go. She had them on and was attempting to walk in them. The task made her look like a newborn fawn trying to walk for the first time. “They are obviously too small, why are you forcing yourself?” Lonna was concerned for her friend.

“Can’t be helped. The moment I saw them, I knew they were my lucky shoes.” Krystal tried to sound as if she didn’t care that they were hurting her feet.

“But isn’t it more important to have shoes that fit?” Lonna wasn’t buying her charade.

“That’s why, I’m wearing them now. They will stretch and fit tomorrow.” Krystal smiled, making Lonna roll her eyes at her friend’s stubbornness.

“I envy you for having a date.” Lonna said sadly. Krystal didn’t hide the glee that Lonna’s words gave her. This made Lonna even more upset. “Not like me. I don’t have any dating experience. I wonder what it would be like to go on a date with Suga.” Lonna was now lost in her daydream.

‘Suga leaned his head on top of Lonna’s as she looped her arm through his, as they walked down the street. Both were smiling like crazy. Finally, they found an empty spot of grass, Suga laid down and offered Lonna to lay her head in his lap, which she did. He ran his fingers through her hair. They ended up with him having her wrapped in his arms.’

While Lonna was fantasizing, Krystal had one of her own.

‘Jin picked her up and swung her around. They both laughed wildly. They then sat with each other’s back against each other. Krystal reached a daisy behind her and tickled his ear. Jin then did the same to her.’

Both girls walked through the mall, with overly happy looks on their faces, as they blushed at their thoughts. Both daydreams ended with the two boys saying the same thing. ‘Suga looked Lonna deep in her eyes and Jin did the same to Krystal. “I’ll make you so happy.” They said. Both boys leaned down and kissed the girls.’

“I already am…” Both girls said aloud. “Because of you.” They giggled as they turned towards each other. Their eyes met, and they were brought out of their thoughts. They turned away from each other quickly, feeling nothing but embarrassment.

Lonna was forced to notice Krystal again, who was now elbowing her in the side hard. Once Lonna looked at her, she pointed in front of them. Lonna followed her finger with her eyes and investigated a shop. There was her mother, she was holding a fluffy pink jacket up in front of her and smiling cutely. Lonna said goodbye to Krystal and went to see what her mother was doing.

Lonna sat quietly outside the changing room. Her mother was in an overly happy mood, but for some reason, it made Lonna feel a bit jealous. Her mother came out and went straight to the mirror to look at herself. “I can’t decide which one is better.” She turned around to her daughter. “Lonna, give mom some suggestions. Which one will make Uncle love me more tomorrow?” Her mother started giggling as she pushed the hair behind her ear. Her smile faded as she looked at her daughter’s sulking face. “No use asking a child.”

Even mom has a date…oh, poor lonely me.’ Lonna thought as her mother turned back around to look in the mirror again.
