The class room buzzed of excitement as the last few minutes of seventh grade ticked on the wall.  All of the students talked enthusiastically about what they were goint to do over the summer.  I sighed, I could probably tell you what every kid was going to do that Summer because they were asked so many different times.

My book sat in my lap, still open to the first page.  I still couldn't start a book when I know that the bell will ring in a few minutes to encourage the hundreds of kids to act like animals.  The students passed me, not bothering to ask me what I would do this summer.  It didn't upset me at all actually, I was actually glad that they finally gave up on trying to make conversation with me.

They used to pick on me in the beginning of the year, and gave up when I never responded.  Believe me, I came up with a brilliant come back for each insult that they gave me.  I would have snapped at them with it if I could.  Why couldn't I?  As much as I hate to discribe myself as this, I'm afraid that there is no other word.  I, am a mute.
